[NSW] Free Parking North Sydney - Ridge St Carpark (3 Levels, Covered)

620

North Sydney Council carpark recently upgraded their boom gate system to number plate recognition. Whether related to this or otherwise, it has been out of service at least since I returned from the break on 3 January. While they fix the system, the boom gates have been raised to allow the public to use the carpark.

The usual pricing
- Monday to Friday: First hour is $7.50. Thereafter $5.50 per half hour. Evening flat rate after 6pm is $7. Maximum daily fee $55
- Early Bird Parking: must be validated at the automatic pay machine, $23 Monday to Friday - Entry 7am to 9.30am, Exit 2.30pm to 6.30pm
- Weekends are free

Plenty of spare space for those who work in North Sydney, are back from the Christmas break already, and feel like driving to work. Not sure how long this one will last so will keep you posted.

With the way the trains are going, this would be a very appealing bargain for those who can use it!

How full is it these days?

      Empty

Ozbargain meetup at the carpark after work.

  • How do you validate your ticket if it’s number plate recognition?

    • +15

unscrew your number plate and take it to the pay machine. :D

    • +1

You just enter your rego into the pay machine - there is no physical ticket

Unlucky if it gets fixed today and a thousand OzBargain members drive to work there tomorrow.

  • Thanks for sharing, bbllueataznee. Terrific and useful bit of info.

    • Free weekend parking is still pretty good. Ideal for vivid etc.

What you’ve said makes no sense.

Are you trying to say don’t park there? In which case the revenue for the council is exactly the same as if you did park there.

Or somehow pay the council for using it? OP is pretty clear, there is currently no way to pay. The system they use is not currently working.

  • Anyone able to confirm if parking is still free here?

All done. Gates are being fixed right now.
