Dan Murphys should price match I think.

Never really loved this cider, despite it's popularity. I find it too be a bit too Golden Circle Apple Juice-y.

    • agreed, way too sweet

      • +4

5 Seeds is good and the low sugar one, even better!

        • +1

          I love the cloudy. yummo

    • +4

i think that's why all the kids drink it

      • +1

Spoken like someone with experience 😉😉

  • +3

I'm not a big fan of these Scandi sweet ciders - but I'll give this one a go at this price

Much prefer the British/French style 'hard' ciders

    Cool, dinner is sorted.

Kids fruit break for the first week back to primary school also sorted.

Tried to redeem - No BWS around the south side of Brisbane carries the 10 pack

  • +4

Somersby 10pack cider (Pear,Apple,Cloudy Apple) is normally $15 docket deal at Coles. They bring it on every 2 months or so, enough for you to make a good stash to last you when the offer comes on again. I have tried this cloudy apple cider it is labeled as semi-sweet, and indeed is not as sweet as the regular versions of the cider. I highly recommended it and at this given price no other cider has better value for the $$.

    • Scrolled down to check if someone was going to mentioned this before posting

    • +2

Egift card at Bws for an extra $0.75 off.

    • They have this docket all the time at Coles. I'd rather they go back to promoting the pure blonde cider $10 for a 6 pack. The taste ain't great, but that low carb/sugar cider at a cheap price….

Couldn’t find much bws with the 10 pack in stock

    • Same here.

    • Can't find any at all on my route driving home from castle hill to hurlstone park in sydney

    Thanks OP.
Claimed the voucher, received it in my email straightaway.
Used the online stock checker, checked my local BWS, and they have 6 Available.

    However:
After inputting details, the website states:

WE'VE SENT YOUR ONE-TIME-USE COUPON STRAIGHT TO YOUR INBOX!
This coupon must be redeemed at a BWS store by Tuesday 23rd January 2018.
While stocks last. The offer is limited to the first 5,000 10-packs!

This implies (to my understanding) that even if you have the voucher successfully in your inbox and present it to the counter, there is a chance that as at that particular point in time, it is possible that 5,000 10-packs could have already been claimed. I wonder if they only give out 5,000 vouchers or they give out >5,000 vouchers, and only the first 5,000 vouchers claimed will get the deal.

    • Who cares? I doubt all the vouchers will get claimed anyway.

      • True :) you never know though, once OzB'ers are onto a deal it's easy that things go OOS fast :)
Just wanted to avoid embarrassment at the checkout and having to pay full price

        • If they make you pay full price, just dump it at the counter and drive down the road to liquorland and get it via a shopper docket at the same price.

  • Despite both being owned by Woolies, never understood the price diff between BWS and Dan

BWS is more of a "convenience" store, in the sense that they have a smaller range, and tend to have higher prices. They also tend to be attached to Woolworths supermarkets, with bigger trading hours, or have a drive-through service like Thirsty Camel does. I can assume therefore that they run on higher profit margins.

Dan Murphy's on the other hand is a "liquor supermarket" kind of shop, with a larger range and sharper pricing. Their operating hours are not as large as BWS, and they tend to have more premium wine collections etc.

That's my take on it anyway :)

    • Same with Liquorland and Vintage Cellars, they are both own by Coles, but prices are always different.

      • +1

        Coles also own 1st choice.

        • Yeah but Vintage Cellar and Liquorland are both boutique yet differently priced. 1st choice is comparable to Dan Murphys.

        • @stormii:
Yep, but that's the comparison I meant, bws->Dan Murphys, Liquorland->1st choice.

    • You're also paying for points at BWS

      • Interesting viewpoint, thanks Beau.

  • Thanks OP love me some apple cider. Although I slightly prefer strongbow over somersby.

  • Do u need to give them the correct DOB?

    • +1

Yeah they’ll check your ID when buying.

      • +1

        Didn't check my ID…

      • Didn't check mine either

    • +1

Nope, I didn't, they didn't check anything for me.

  • -1

I prefer cummins or dickens cider

  • Anyone know if this tastes as good in the cans? I bought some Corona cans, and boy was that an epic fail, tasted disgusting from a can.

    • It's the placebo effect. Marketing has brainwashed everyone into believing Corona tastes better out of a bottle with a slice of lime on it, drinking it on some sunny beach in Mexico.

      • Nope, it tasted metallic, it definitely does taste better from a bottle. Some drinks can handle a can, others pick up the flavour of it.

        • Fair enough :)

      • And this!

    • +1

Dunno about the cloudy apply version but the pear one tastes about equally good out of cans or bottles. Never buy beer in cans though, something about beer seems to make that metallic can taste a lot more noticeable.

      • Yep, there's not an in infinite amount of 'bad' the taste buds can discern, so can or bottle this will always taste the same.

    • It is like Decate, if I drank that out of a glass bottle and not in the US/Mexico it just doesn't taste right.

    • Mexicans actually hate Corona, they think it's funny when foreigners love it.

I guess it's like Aussies and Fosters.

  • Offer not available in NT………….

  • They only had a 6 pack of bottles at my local BWS…

    • Yep same here.. my local did a deal and I paid $11 for the 6pk usually $24 or something ..

  • Just bought a 10 pack at my local BWS and it went down a treat after mowing the lawn … much nicer than the usual Apple Cider they cell as I find its a bit too sweet as well.

    • +1

You do a 10 pack each time you mow the lawn? Dang, you must be drinking 10 every weekend in summer!

  • +3

Warning : voucher expires 10 min after you hit redeem so make sure you have stock in your hands and aren't at a busy register

  • -2

Can anyone recommend a different Cider currently on special.

  • Mini review: I like it. Has a kinda tangy, sour taste with a sweet aftertaste. It's a strange taste at first, pretty different to most ciders I've had but it's nice.

  • I think its 10 cans not bottles

  • +1

Thanks, got a pack and tastes nice.

  • +1

Got a pack. It's okay, better than I was expecting.

  • Only the bigger standalone stores seem to have these, I tried three different ones attached to Woolies and none had them. Finally got a pack, it's good, worth getting at $15.

  • Anyone have an opinion about the pear cider?

    • +1

Pear cider is sensational. Tastes like real pears!

      • +1

Good to know. I got the cloudy one and it's very nice. Might go back and get the pear one someone

      • I was considering the Pear one but thought it was probably hit or miss. Thanks for the info. Will try it one day (not at full price tho).

        • Liquorland often has them at $10 for a 6 pack

    • +1

The Somersby Pear Cider is my go-to cider.

Yes I have no qualms, as a grown adult man, that I love a cider.

  • My local had none :(

  • Somersby Ciders are very nice, Many thanks OP. Have downloaded the coupon.

  • Redeemed and tried a couple! Nice and not overly sweet like some ciders that seem sugar filled

  • Cleaned out at my local ( Mitcham SA )

    • Maybe all the SA's thought that the cider could be used as fuel for their generators when the next power outage occurs?

      • And you all mocked us when we build the Tesla battery backup power plant … yet now I hear Vic and NT going to follow our lead hehe

      • Edit: Poor taste.

  • Has anyone tried redeeming this twice?

  • How much sugar is in one can? (BF had 7 in less than 3 days…)
