    For Prime members only though

    • Thanks just added to post

However it is pretty easy to do an amazon prime free trial so this is a pretty great deal imo

        • +1

Great idea! I think you get 7 day free trial. Just make sure you turn off auto payment and/or cancel before 7 days is up to avoid being charged.

        • @swapsey:
It says "try Prime Free for 30 days" ;)

        • @nismo:

Just cancel when you received your order. Or set reminder in 29 days. :)

        • Their cancellation system allows you to continue to use the service for the remaining 30 days as well. Don't forget to cancel as the default renewal is for a year!

Edit: Seems they've changed it to default to monthly, however it definitely retains the prime benefits after cancelling.

    • Neither. Many options in the market, if you can make it to a decent JB-Hifi, most earphone brands have a product in this category.

      • What do you recommend then? I'm after a Bluetooth headphone~

        • +4

As the battery and bluetooth technology is limited, the BT earphones (IEM) tend to work better when joined by a cable.

Whilst I used to hand out advice, IEM's are pretty personal in terms of what style you like, what sound signature you like, your needs for a mic and your expectations on battery life.

I've heard good things about the B&O h5, but they retail upward of $300.

I have a dozens of pairs of IEM's and 2 pairs of Bluetooth Headphones (Plantronics Pro and V-Moda), the implementation of bluetooth v5 should bring some interesting battery saving optimisation to the each-ear (not connected) IEM's, this is what I'm waiting for (not much help to you right now, sorry).

@noone025: Thx, this is why I keep coming back to OB, for these kind of informative replies from fellow professionals =)

      • What's any good at JB? Headphones tend to have massive markups on them and are hugely profitable for stores, so they don't undercut their own profits with decently priced Chinese ones.

        • See my reply above, you don't have to buy them there, but helps to see many options in one place.

  • Was checking out some reviews and this reviewer swears by these as the best headphones he has owned and so durable that they came back to life after being accidentally put through the wash. Have a watch of his comparison with the X3s.

    • I’ve had by Jaybird X3s for a year and I use them every day. I can say that the sound is very good and it helps downloading the Jaybird app on your phone to adjust the sound to the way you like it. Don’t know if the Freedoms have this ability with an app?

      • Don’t know if the Freedoms have this ability with an app?

Like in the 3rd pic down on Amazon?

        • +2

Can confirm you can adjust the sound the same way as the X3's with the Freedoms.

      • Same experience expect the ear tips get loose easily and 'normal' ear tips are not compatible.

      • It should have abilities base from this video. Not sure if it same as Jaybirds X3 but i presume it uses the same app.

  • Ok. Thanks

Cheers, OP - just threw out a Chinese pair that I could never get to stay in my ears and the sound was deteriorating. Fingers crossed for these ones.

I have both Meizu EP51 and EP52. They're fooking terrific at $25 (on sale).

      • Had the 51's, could not get them to sit in a stable way and sound (which was pretty tinny straight off the bat) was definitely deteriorating. iPod Bluetooth connection was variable. Hope they work out better for you.

        • Only thing I don't like about the EP51 is that the cord is too long and wraps in front of my shoulder if I'm active. The EP52 has a heavy wrap on the back which keeps them resting on my shoulders unless I jump up and down, in which case it lightly whips my shoulders. Not exactly ideal for cardio. They might sit tightly under a tshirt. Haven't tried.

Why not post in yoda-speak with that gravatar?

Some great ideas young padawan, you have. Yes, hmmm.

It doesn't seem useful to keep the amazon prime, does it? We can not stream movies or tv series, and the Prime catalog is quite limited.

    • Thinking that myself at the moment. They're onto Opera's VPN now, and since I can't get Electric Dreams (which is with Stan in Australia) I'll probably pull the pin once Grand Tour Season 2 is over.

      • That's a useful tip about Opera. Cheers.

My $15 pair off eBay broke a few weeks ago after lasting about year and a half. I bought the Anker SoundBuds Curve Wireless Earbuds for $27 during previous amazon sale. Awesome sound with great bass, surprised the heck out off me!! Just my 2 cents :)

27% 1 star reviews. Wouldn't touch them personally.

Happy with my QY7 at around half the price and better reviews

Thanks OP. I am currently living in Japan. Amazon US ships it to my country as well. I am a Jaybird fan for many years now and I have ordered two headphones.

    • That's great - hope they stead you well.

Thanks OP. Got one yesterday. Expected before the end of the month.

    • Have you got them? I was to receive mine on Monday - I haven' got them yet…

      • +1

Got it yesterday. Used it this morning. I might have finally found the right earphones for my ear.

Good to hear. Seems like mine was delivered today, too. Postman usually leaves parcels near the door. Hope it's safe till I get home.

Forgot to post because it was so late at night haha, but I ordered one too, thanks OP!

  • Have heard good things about these and was waiting for the right price. Ordered a pair. Can't wait to give them a go. Thanks OP.
