Blanket/Quilt for Sydney winter

Hello,

Just thought of asking about your choice of Quilt/Blanket for chilly Sydney winters nights.

Where do you buy it from?

Do stores like KMart/BIG W/Target have good comfortable blankets to tackle 6-7 degree temperature? What are the costs of these blankets?

Thanks.

Isn't it too early? You still need to kill half of summer and a couple of months of transition before you will end up in winter. Sydney winter isn't too bad either.

    • Yeah he should try Canberra's -5s

    Does not compute.

  • This seller is reliable and if you really feel the cold the merino wool 700gsm quilts are outstanding.

    • Now a further 20% off with code PRAWNS.

  • 500gsm wool quilt with a blanket as underlay for Winter. Only use blanket for summer and wool quilt for other times. Price varies depending on the brand and size of quilt you buy.

  • If wanting to save money buy a couple of blankets from the 2nd hand shop and layer as needed. Plus 2 hot water bottles, one for the feet and the other to hug. If you manage to get a wool blanket from the 2nd hand shop put it under your sheet - it reflects your heat back at you and makes a big difference! Total cost ~$20

  • downia duck/goose down… lasts you quite a while but not cheap. decent fill will set u back around 1k
if you find it on discount, then yay

  • Target does a couple decent cheap Goose or Duck down quilts. But make sure you get 80-90%, otherwise it will be all feathers (read the pack first)

  • Winter quilts' price depends on quality of gsm and of course sizes. But if you want to save money, you can buy microfibre quilts ranging from 400-600 gsm.

  • Problem with Goose or Duck down quilts is that they aren't machine washable. For this reason, I prefer good quality microfiber ones.
