Geez! Who let the work experience kid loose in the Graphic Design dept at H96…..Ugly!

    802.11b

WTF?! Who even makes things with that anymore?! Dud.

Not gonna get much 4k through that!

    • +1

But it says 2.4/5ghz in the image so its at least 802.11n or a

  • Where do I add the promo code? It's not giving an option to add one.

    • Never mind, figured it out.

  • Don't even think about these if you're planning on Libreelec kodi. There's not much support for these chipsets. Stick with AMLogic s905 or s912

    • I'm looking for something cheap for Kodi, do you have any suggestions?
I would like it to support 4k to future proof it, if possible, but I have no idea about these android boxes as I have always had a full desktop as a media centre.

      • Mate, lookup libreelec forums and there's a list. Basically stick with AMLogic chipsets preferably s905x or s912

      • Recently bought H96 Pro Plus with S912 chipset.
Much better than my previous Rockchip chipset box.
        Couldn't be happier.

        • So something like this? https://www.lightinthebox.com/h96-pro-tv-box-quad-core-amlog…
Would 32GB be enough storage for all the covers and data etc from Kodi as well as some tv apps (10 play etc)?

        • Yes, I got this one.
I think you can increase your storage using external USB.

I mostly use it for Netflix and Plex haven't had a chance to use KODI on yet.
But I also don't see many TV boxes with more than 32GB.
So I reckon you should be fine.

        • @fahadjanjua:

Cool. I have a NAS so it's not the video files I was concerned with just the Kodi app itself.
I'll look at how big my database is tonight and double check.
Whats the sound like through this? Is it just outputting via HDMI or is there optical out or some such?

          Edit:
Actually, I found this on another site and can see it supports HDMI 2.0 so will support Audio over HDMI.

  • Sorry, new to TV box world any help appreciated.

I am on OzB so obviously price is an issue. I saw this on the link above.. is it any good as a (Cheap) starter will i be able to run Kodi through it?

    Cheers

    • You'll be fine as a starter.
      KODI will also run fine.
