I have one of these, its not too bad, just dont expect the chill of an air con. This model is the better one compared to a flasher looking on I have.

    • Well you wouldn't because it's not an air con. It's an air cooler, there's a difference.

      • when you read reviews some people seem disappointed that it doesnt cool as much as they expect

  • Does it have australian certification on safety etc?

    • You would think Flora Livings being an Australian family owned ACN registered business and selling the stock from Melbourne that it would be. It wouldn't be legal to sell appliances without an Australian safety electrical certification.

  • Why/how does it claim to be anti viral?

    • UV light inside maybe?

"When the anti-virus button is activated, the cool air also passes through a water curtain comprising a dust-proof net and water filter to deliver purified and virus-free air for healthier living."

After you have bought it you won't want to tell everybody about it.

    • looks like UV light inside (that I can see)

Just be careful of these guys, and take a PDF of the listing which you bought, as they often change the listing. Also don't expect any easy returns, they sent me the wrong item and I had to argue with them about getting the correct one sent, who pay for return postage.

As for these aircon units, they're rubbish, if you want to make your house humid, they're great. You're better off with just a fan.

Do you mean this particular make, or evaporative coolers in general?
      Any you prefer?

I reckon these all types (not this particular one) are rubbish.

I prefer a fan over these (which is all they really are, but they blow slightly moist air). Its ineffective as the water heats up quickly to room temp and you get slightly moist warm are blowing. you're better off getting a normal, faster fan as the body cools down by air blowing the (body) warm water off your skin, thus taking away the heat.

If you're in a humid environment (NSW/QLD) then these are really pointless as the air is already humid.

If I can't have air con, then a spray/sprinkler hose outside is much better, as you get a constant supply of cold(er) water which helps with evapouration

        • Evaporation does cause cooling. As long as humidity is not high, you will get some nice cooling.

I've stood in front of a misting fan on a hot day and it does cool you brilliantly.

How well these work remains to be seen. I bought two!!

        • @check:
Oh well post back. I hope they're better then the ines I've used.

  • Be aware that this is only 2L tank capacity, from experience I'd suggest looking for a larger sized unit that has both a bigger fan and expanded tank capacity, so you're not having to refill it every couple of hours.

  • does this come with ionizer?

      does this come with ionizer?

      Don't know, probably not.

There is a water pump in the water tank. The water lasted more than an afternoon at the middle speed (1 is fastest, 3 slowest!), but what it does with the water internally I don't know. There is no mist.

When you turn on anti-virus, there is a blue light!

Don't expect it to cool like an air-conditioner. It is really a fan.
This is probably as good as one can expect from a device of this type. You don't stand in front of it and think "wow, that's cold". It is more like a fan with some minor additional water cooling function.

Ive only had mine for a couple of days. So far I am happy with it. Especially at the price :)

      • thanks, good to know that you are happy with it

      • yeah the numbering is a bit confusing…. my model stated 2016 …..
