They don't last long (it's a plastic ball in a plastic socket which gets increasingly looser), and don't handle heavy phones well. These were good some 5 years ago, when phones were much lighter.

I got one from a previous deal. The holder won't fit my Pixel XL, and even if I do manage to open the holder wide enough, I wouldn't put a phone of substantial value into the holder due to the constant pressure, and difficulty in removing.
The Pixel XL (154.72 x 75.74 x 8.6 mm) is slightly wider than the iPhone X (143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm).
I think it is more suited for smaller phones.
Holds my Mi Mix just fine which is 81.9mm wide. I agree about the pressure it seems to put on the phone seems a bit high.
You could remove the spring bit and just lean it back a bit.

remove the springs and cut off 8mm with pliers and also super glue the two neck ball joints when they become loose and you'll be sweet!
I bought one last time. The metal wire broke in a week. I only used a few times. Not even worth 1c
I just got mine from the last deal. Not very sturdy and flimsy even with a small type iPhone 5
