LEGO Ninjago Minifigures $2.50 (Half Price) @ Woolworths

240

A great price considering that these Lego blind bags rarely go on special, let alone are marked down to half price. At this price, even great just for parts.

This clearance item is the Ninjago series of minifigures only and is available in-store only (no longer listed on Woolies site).

Been after a Sensei Wu for years, might have to go feel up some bags

    • might have to go feel up some bags

Reading only that part with no context sounds… yeah.

    • You can try using "bump codes" which can identify contents. But Master Wu (we love that dude) is easy to feel for.

    • He was the only one of the ninja team that we couldn't get in fairly cheap sets, but we found him on Ebay at Christmas as an 'opened blind bag' for just over $5.

Please state which store this is. It's a clearance item so it might only be store specific?

    • This was at Bannockburn in Victoria (3331) but I'm assuming that because the listing in unavailable on Woolies online site, this is now a general clearance item and the price should be available in all stores. Hopefully others can confirm this. Perhaps other stores would price match based on the attached photo.

      • What stores have stock?

      • Scanned at $3.99 as a Promotion at Burwood NSW.
Only a handful of packets left.

  • I can't find any store which have these available

  • Anyone seen this in any Sydney stores? My son would love them!

    • +1

I haven't seen any in Syd, I'm always in the search for discount lego for my Nephew.

Due to the difficulty finding the figures he wants, I now augment genuine boxed lego with these figurines from Ali. Surprisingly excellent quality.

      • It does not say LEGO.
        Possibly Lepin.

        • No, they aren't lego branded.

      • +1

Facebook Lego buy sell swap groups are your friend.
prices are usually $3-$6 per fig + $2.50 postage for up to 8.
hope that helps, it was a no-nonsense way for me to round out my boy's collection.

      • Can you choose the figure(s) you want specifically and individually?
Looking down that page I noticed all recent customers bought just one unit, then saw the 'item specifics' section lists model number as, "Ninja PG8073 PG1023 Volcano Garmadon Shark Army Great White"
Which might actually be the name of two figures Volcano Garmadon and Shark Army Great White.

        • There is only fake lego on AliExpress.
When you order the fake lego, they don't have the official name of the minifig but you usually do get a thumbnail of the minifig as the preview of the product 'colour' you are selecting.

        • Just go to the "color" selector, select the figurine from the thumbnails, and click add. I've always got what I've ordered.

        • @spinferno: @ash2000: Thanks. Been tempted by the Scooby-doo stuff on there too, since Lego have discontinued it.
Does anyone recommend any "fake" brand?

        • @sam buster:

I usually just look at the photos previous buyers have uploaded and comments.

Just a quick tip on searching, for best results don't use brand names such as LEGO or Ninjago, use instead, for example, "ninja figure blocks".

It is no cheaper ordering the figurines in one batch, so if your child enjoys getting mail, checkout each item separately!

        • @sam buster:
my kids hate them. the hands break, the heads get stuck and they always have poorer 'clutch' power which makes it frustration to actual tears. so I pay the extra $2 and get genuine from the shops / FB BSS groups.

        • @spinferno: @ash2000:

          Thanks again.
I think I'll just stick to the Ninjago figures for their hair then.
I found one figure I was after and possibly a second one, but at $3.99 each….
          I'll likely order from Aliexpress.

        • Ahh! They don't have the ninja characters on that link!

    • Remembering from my recent search for the half-priced sets, only Burwood Westfield and Ashfield seemed to have any Lego in the Inner West. Ashfield doesn't have any Ninjago blind bags left, and Burwood has a few (see below) priced $3.99.
None at all at Leichhardt, Alexandria, Erskineville/Newtown, Burwood Mall, Marrickville Metro.

  • ahh, the old days when each bag had unique barcode so you didn't end up with duplicates …now its a lucky dip.

    • If you have the time and patience, and can bothered, you can pretty easily identify them by feel.

I had never done it before, and I found it easy enough to grab a few that I wanted (mainly the sushi chef and the guy with the boombox).

      • Can confirm, have about 150, no duplicates. Is time consuming though

      • Today, my first attempt at this, took me about an hour to identify the remaining 8 packets in the store!
        Then I discovered that they weren't $2.50 anyway :(

        • Ah damn, sorry that you wasted your time! :(

When I did it, I found that it was slow going at first, but once I got my head around all the distinctive parts, and addition pieces that assisted in identifying between alternative possibilities, I was very confident in being able to quickly identify the ones I wanted! (And I did end up with a 100% strike rate for the ones I bought!)

        • @caprimulgus: Nah, you didn't cause me to waste my time - it was Woolies that did that by having inconsistent pricing and a lack of stock.

I think I managed to work out which pack contained what with one exception that I thought might have been one i wanted - when i got home I had a closer look at the range and realised I would have been wrong! But I knew I wasn't sure about that one.

    • Been like 15 different cmf ranges since then…

  • I just want the hair pieces for four of the ninjas (red, white, blue and black(brown)).
Got my daughter sets to cover all the figures, but they come with awkward, fiddly, two-piece masks that she doesn't use. Each ninja has two faces, so without hair they look annoyingly silly.

If I could find these that haven't already been picked over, $10 wouldn't break my bank account. Frustrating enough that the Ninjago movie outfits are pretty dull and drab compared to the earlier, bright and colourful ninja costumes of the tv series.

Not all Woollies have these for $2.50. Featherbrook (VIC) have these for $3.99 and wouldn't budge on price matching.

    • Cheers for the heads up.

  • $3.99 for the handful left at Burwood, NSW.
Should have checked the price before feeling up all the bags!

They had, as best as I could identify:

Nya, Sushi Chef, 2x Squid (Octopus) head, possibly Lloyd in hoody, ginger woman with red handbag, heavy metal guitarist, and possibly the shark army guy with the funny head.

  • No store in western Victoria has these for $2.50. It's either $3.99 or out of stock.
