going by revisions history it is possible that the seller is tweaking the inventory to only show a few items at a time. So they could have several more in stock, but only reporting a few left on eBay.

They do that to make it seem like the item is a fast selling SKU and sending a sort of 'hurry, stocks are running out' kind of message — scarcity psychology at work.

  • Anyone can help me to find the best deal on a Mavic pro platinum?
So far the best is around 2050 -20% on ebay for the combo..
    cheers :)

Do you really want to spend 20-30% extra for an extra ~3 minutes of flight time? That's the only real improvement over the standard Mavic.

If you like the idea of quieter flight, the Platinum props are cheap and fit the standard Mavic just fine.

      • well.. if you know any good deal on the standard that is fine as well :)

Anyway, yes, I'd prefer the Platinum for the reduced noise. I heard it and the difference is quite noticeable.
As a pilot, I noticed sometimes it is much better to be stealth and avoiding crowds around you.

      • oh and by replacing the props, the improvement is not as significant (again tested personally).

But I am open to a standard mavic too if that save a lot of $$$

It's not hard to find Mavic deals around $1100-1200. IMO much better value, considering the very minor upgrades the Platinum has. I agree that quieter is better, but the props on the original model is good enough for me.

Having said that, here's the Platinum for $1360 (after 20% discount) which is an excellent price for local stock: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-MAVIC-PRO-PLATINUM-THE-WORLD…

        • @klaw81:
          Thanks for that!
where did you find the $1100 mavic standard? I guess it is not in a combo, right?

        • @ets27: JB Hifi were selling the standard Mavic (not combo) for $1199 on Boxing Day.

There are several "open box" new Mavics on eBay for $1049.

The cheapest Fly More combo I can find is exactly the same price as a new Platinum ($1360 after 20% discount) but it's from Hong Kong https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-Mavic-Pro-Fly-More-Combo-in-…

IMO the Fly More kit is easily better value than the Platinum. 80 minutes of flying time vs 30, plus you get the bag and all the other accessories. $20 for quiet props and you're way ahead on flight time and only slightly louder.

        • @klaw81:

          awesome.
          I will have a look.
My only fear is they will release something new on the 24.01 dji event.
          cheers!

        • @ets27: even if dji do release a new model, it only means the original Mavic will be even cheaper. IMO, Win/win for everyone. :)
