Oxenfree for Nintendo Switch $6.24 @ Nintendo eShop (Australian, 75% off)

730

Oxenfree for the switch is down from $24.99 to $6.24. PC version still at $19.99USD.
Seems like a fairly well received game that would be best suited to the portablity of the switch.

i think it was free on xbox gold a few months back too but this definitely seems like a game better suited to the switch :)

Is Nintendo letting you carry digital titles from platform to platform yet? Like if I bought a digital game for Wii-U, will I get to play it on my switch?

    • I don’t think so

    • Like if I bought a digital game for Wii-U, will I get to play it on my switch?

      Nope.

    • Virtual console games might in the future. The rest will not.

81% on metacritic - must be alright! I want it, but the ozbargainer in me wants me to wait and see if it can get a discount on eShop credit. I also want to get Cat Quest and Yooka Laylee…

      You missed JB's 15% off.

      • Yeah I know. Plus those gift card discounts with PayPal. Hoping something like that happens again

  • $6.24 is like nothing in my wallet. Happy to pay for that price. I bought it for my wife.

    • Well hey there Mr Moneybags, look at you with your full time job, mortgage, and A to B car. The ladies would be lining up if not for your other half.

      Lowest on GOG was free.

I played this through on my phone - if you're into gameplay-lite, dialogue-heavy games (I am), mixed with a teen Stranger Things/Twin Peaks narrative vibe then absolutely pick this up.

Is there a way to use the Aus eshop on a PC or do I need to use it via the Switch?

    • +3

I'm fairly sure that the Aus eShop is only accessible via the Switch/3DS/WiiU, and not through PC browsers.

      • +1

It's a shame because I know you can in the UK and US for Switch. It will probably come to Aus soon enough. Whenever I buy / browse the PS store I always use the browser as well.

Who negged you? Perfectly valid question

  • this game is really annoying me, those accents, stupid kids talking about relationships, when does something interesting happen

    • What kind of accents are in the game?

      • it's american teen accents it's really annoying, English would have been interesting

  • I really liked this game on my Android

  • I played through it a couple of times when it was free on Xbox. It's an alright story and has multiple endings, but don't go into it expecting much gameplay, just alot of walking and talking.

    • they call this stuff a video game?

      • I guess so. I feel bad for anybody who paid full price for it though. It's a $5 indie game at best.

        • yeah i dont mind spending $6 i guess

  • +1

On sale as well for PSN US.
Didn't bite myself as there is too much walking for my liking.
