Crazy to think $200+shipping is a deal for these shoes

  • $800 for the yeezy’s makes this look like a bargain ! Does anyone actually pay $800 for those really ugly shoes?

    • -1

Its price is high because its rare. Usually its only available on the Yeezy site (and is sold at a fairly reasonable price I guess) but then you get resellers which can bump the prices up

      • -1

They're no longer rare and they're available at a few retailers. In Sydney there's Footlocker, Subtype, INCU, Sneakerboy (and one or two more) as well as the Adidas Original stores and Adidas online.
$800 is a pretty steep price but they're coming down and hunting would net you a pair for ~$500 if you're lucky enough.

        • lol, show me one retailer that has yeezy stock for retail

        • -1

@sm3004: All these retailers sell Yeezys for retail and all have stock on the day of release. Just because they are not on shelves when you walk in does not mean that they don't sell their stock for retail

        • @BrewerHaHa: Have you ever tried to buy a pair? I've gone after every single one since the V2s came out and never was able to get one. You have to be on the website when it opens and you get put in a queue. You have to be extremely lucky to get past the waiting queue and then if you do and don't checkout within 1 minute then it's possible that your cart doesn't go through because they ran out of stock, which happened to me twice.

Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. Of course they sell for retail on release day, but they're sold out in 5 minutes every single time. Or do you think i can buy them 2 days later online and they would still sell for twice the price? The whole reason they sell for that much because it's hard as hell to get a pair.

        • @sm3004: I've been on Yeezys from the V1. I've copped multiple pairs from V1, to 750, to V2 from online to raffle. I know about the queue and I know about the cart because I've copped from Adidas online. It's no longer hard to get a pair. There was a time where Adidas Originals had under 40 pairs total and places like Sneakerboy only had 20. Now each place has double - trriple these numbers for the V2s.
The reason you find it difficult is because you're late and there were certain things you could do in the past to increase your chances of getting a pair. Since the V2s, the way certain physical/online stores in Australia do things has changed.
If you really think $500-$800 is expensive, look at the Air Yeezy 2 or the 350 Turtle Dove. The Yeezy 2 is something I'm still chasing but the Adidas Yeezy 350 v2 line is played out. It's only sought out amongst collectors/enthusiasts to complete their collection, but never prized like the earlier releases.

        • @BrewerHaHa: you're still chasing the v2's but they're easier to get, can't argue with that logic

        • @sm3004: No longer chasing any Yeezys. Too many kids into Yeezys right now to stunt on other kids and gain some sort of admiration. There was a Sneakercon in Melbourne and it was filled with 15 year olds and NMDs because they couldn't afford Yeezys. The resell prices don't justify it anymore either. I'll go after them if friends want them and assist them for retail, but for myself, I'll never wear it and I don't like the idea of reselling.
There are other pairs of shoes which are worth more in my eyes. The rise of Yeezys and Adidas has made it easier for to get pairs but it's also sad to see the line of sneakers you enjoy slowly be killed off by something else.
