Hi

Just wondering if anyone has seen any good deals on the LG OLED 65" C7T TV or even the 55" B7?

    • Can you post up a receipt / any details of where / when / why? Best i got told yesterday was 4k.

    • I find this extremely hard to believe.

    • I'll post up the receipt when i get to work this morning.

      • Absolute legend mate. Just moved into my new place over the weekend, killing to get a 65 at that price :) Thanks!

      As promised:

Myer were doing a $15 off for every $75 on TVs. On their website (Google "Myer OLED65C7T" and it would show up, even though it was out of stock and not listed on their website if you navigated through it), they had this deal against the "hot price" of $3,499 which brought the price down to ~$2,809.

I went to one JB store and the best they could do was $3,600. Went to another JBs and they took a little while, but came back with $3,200. I went to the Myer in the same complex, and the guy said the website was wrong, they wouldn't honour the price, and had to wait ~2 months for delivery.

Went back to JBs and paid $3,200 delivered 2 days later.

I didn't post it as a "deal" as Myer weren't going to honour it, and I'm surprised that JBs let me have it for that. But they didn't have to.

Amazing. Heading to JB now. Will post up results ❤️❤️❤️

        • Good luck :)

I think you should be able to get it for $3,500 or $3,600… Or you might have to wait like s4nd5 has said.

        • how did you go @tauk

        • I'd also like you know how you went!

        • Would also like to know how you went!

Edit: Just tried with no success. They couldn't get anywhere near it.

        • @joshuARGH: That's a shame. How low did they go?

        • @srsparky:

Not low at all. The salesman seemed happy to match it until he realised LG wasn't running any promotions. They supposedly aren't able to go lower than the 4Kish "staff/cost price". He did mention to keep an eye out for promotions as they can do more when the lg rebates are available to them but he mentioned with the limited stock remaining and the TV being EOL there may not be any coming up.

  • Just had a chat with one of the guys at JBHifi. The 55" C7 is being discontinued so it is likely that the 65" will be too. You might want to wait for the refreshed models. ETA could be end of Feb/March or you could try to buy the C7 where you'll have a better chance haggling since it is being discontinued.

Something to keep in mind is that the entire LG 2017 range B7, C7, E7, W7 all use the same panel and same in-house developed SoC (the M16P) so they will all perform exactly the same. The only think you are paying for is a more expensive stand/housing.
This will not be the case in 2018.
LG have announced they are going back to the setup they had in 2016 where the lowest model will have a cheaper (possibly 3rd party) SoC.
In 2016 it was one from a company called MediaTek. In 2018 the B8 will have the Alpha 7 SoC and the C8 and above will have the Alpha 9.
The finer details are not out yet but It is safe to say it will be lower quality with less features.
Thus if you want to wait for the 2018 series, you should probably consider avoiding the base model.
Also it will probably be difficult to get a good discount on the 2018 range for a while.

It's also been said that the 2018 models won't feature image quality any better than the 2017 models and all you're getting is a stand update and a new image processor that will more than likely hurt image quality through over processing and won't be able to be turned off.
