Any Effective Treatment for Jaw Pain?

My wife suffers from recurring jaw pain.

Years ago she dislocated her jaw from eating food and she has since has been getting recurring jaw pain.

It comes and goes, but when it does come it makes it painful and uncomfortable when eating.

She has seen a specialist for TMJ couple of years back but he didn't offer much treatment.

Wondering if anyone has had good experience from seeing a chiro or physio for jaw pain. If so, any recommendation in Sydney?

Thank you

Wow, didn't know you could dislocate your jaw eating food. Unless your wife is a snake?

  • Have you been given any jaw strengthening exercises related to TMJ? I know one was using a paddle pop stick and the back teeth…..

  • had to do jaw exercises years ago after breaking my jaw.

also notice when eating certain foods my jaw just clicks at every bite.

for pain i used Codox and weed.

there are plenty of clips on youtube detailing various jaw strengthening techniques

  • I'm a physio who works with a lot of jaw patients, unfortunately I don't know any in Sydney however a quick google search of 'TMJ specialist physio Sydney' came up with a few places that seem appropriate. Have been seeing jaw patients for a while now and can say the earlier they get seen the better the outcome. Good luck and hope you find someone!
