Yep. Definitely. The XL DLC includes the three major expansions and they are all awesome.

I'm on the fence with JC3. Is it the type of game where you can dive in and mess around, or do you have to spend hours on missions to unlock areas, vehicles etc?
I have more games than time so I'd like to just be able to blow some sh*t up for a while.
You can do missions to upgrade gear, but it is not necessary. All areas are unlocked from the start. It's a big open world. Mucking around and blowing stuff up is what you will find yourself doing most of the time. It's what makes the game so addictive. Youtube is chock full of funny random gameplay moments, and for your housemates/family, it's just as fun to spectate as it is to play.

How does Just Cause 3 run on Xbox One these days? I remember hearing at launch it didn't run well at all which turned me off.
Frame rate drops are occasional but noticeable. After reading so much about performance issues, I still bit the bullet mid-2017 when a sale was on and, in my mind, the immensity of the explosions and prettiness of the vistas are worth it. Would have been great if they could have fixed the issues but doesn't stop me wanting to play.

Back to school sale for the parents, now the kids have got homework again and the telly is available.
Most of these titles are not suitable for kids so we can guess that's their reasoning, but with businesses you never know.

Don't bother. Both games are a lazy port of the 360 versions.
Highly recommend Terraria. The new 1.3 update is just about to hit. Hours and hours of entertainment there. Also up to 4 splitscreen local co-op. Kid friendly. You can think of it like a 2D Minecraft, but there is much more depth (pun intended) especially on the crafting and monsters side.
1.3 update is coming for months now…..

From what I can see the games mentioned are cheaper on the MS store. Deus Ex is free this month if you have PS+ though.
back to school in my day meant going out and buying over priced text books, some folders, some wacky assed pens and name sticky labels
not once did my parents rock up with a handful of nintendo games and be like "your going back to school yay here you go!"
i guess it is 2018, where people get gold stars for coming last, heck even rocking up to class probably gets you a medal nowdays?
Yeh ..when I was in HS teachers would confiscate yr walkman gameboy or any device…. definitely ur phone ..not that kids had em ….but if you did teacher would take it.
Now the teachers encourage you to charge your phone in class to bolster attendance.

X or S doesn't matter… everything works on both systems… X is just a more powerful console so things can look better/run smoother/be higher resolution (though typically you don't get all of those and it varies greatly)… you're fine on an S

Still not convinced about Just Cause 3. Everytiime I go to buy it something stops me! Is the storyline gameplay good or really just for those who like to stuff around in the sandpit blowing up stuff?
The story is pretty ludicrous, it's really just an excuse to blow sh_t up. And blow sh_t up you will - a LOT. It is bloody hilarious, one of the most fun games you'll find these days. So you've got a campaign there with missions to do to progress the story, but on the way to most of those mission objectives you'll find yourself getting distracted by an army base to neutralise (by blowing sh_t up) or a town to liberate (by blowing other sh_t up).
Honestly, for $8, what have you got to lose? Even if you only play it for an hour, you'll have got your money's worth out of it. Hell, I paid a fair bit more than that for breakfast this morning.

I'm just trying to stop buying games i don't play. The backlog is ridiculous. Too many shrinkwrapped games for XB1, PS4 and 3DS and Vita. Even some WiiU titles that will probably never get spun.

Bought Just Cause 3, but now I'm not sure if I should have. Why? Because I have a feeling it'll be a games with gold soon. It or Deus Ex, hence the price. A few Square Enix games have been games with gold.
Think of it as supporting the creators of a piece of art. As a bonus you might get around to playing it before it hits GWG (and my thoughts are that will be a long way off).

Im not massive on current games. Dont really have the coordination to make it very far in these first person shooters. Can anyone suggest if Just Case 3 or Tombraider are the types of games that tend to steer you through the game rather than forcing you to search worlds and complete lots of tasks?

Both Tomb Raider : Definitive Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider are great buys can't go wrong, not sure about Just cause 3 but others have said its worthwhile. I just bought the season pass for Just cause 3 for like $4 beacuse I have a feeling it might go in games with gold or gamepass in the near future. :)
