Pretty sure you can. I've got an older model. Can charge it via plug->usb, and simultaneously charge my phone out of the usb->mini, if that makes sense.

From what I gather:
The 2 has 1x USB-A output, and supports Quick Charge 2
The 2i has 2x USB-A outputs, and supports Quick Charge 3.0, and is slightly larger.
