Nice price.. I was about buy the xb30 for 129 on ebay sales.
But I'll probably buy this one.

That's the only drawback is its size
Depends how you use it. XB40 is definitely better for outside party scenarios as it has more bass and it's sound carries further, but I reckon the XB30 is better for indoor use as it is a bit cleaner sounding and not as boomy.
This is basically a JBL Xtreme competitor, with maybe even more bass.
I'm no audiophile. But I didn't think it was possible to have too much bass!
I went to jbhifi and tried both of them out on their display.. Despite the reviews some saying the xb30 was better than the 40
I found that the 40 was louder which is expected due to its size.
But at higher volumes I found the xb30 the treble seemed to be bit fuzzy
St lower volumes they sounded the same
But the 40 had better base at all levels by a small margin.

FWIW, XB30 was at $129 a couple weeks ago at Bing Lee.
It's a brilliant speaker- I tested the JBL Charge 3, and a few others, and this was significantly better sounding (particularly bass).
Only downfall is that it cannot be charge via a standard USB (although, this is a "kind of" solution https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/90cm-USB-Black-Charger-Power-Cab…)
