  • Better than other deal, but the free one is a random flavor? What if I know of a flavor I don't like and I end up getting it, then the free one would be useless to me.

    • yeah - I know what you mean. If you have a preference for your free bag, please just let me know at checkout (message to merchant). Please try and keep it fair with regards to price range, but I will do my best. Thanks.

  • I thought you were always doing free shipping? that was a surprise at the checkout.

While this deal is better than the last one, its not as good as the BOGOF and free ship deals you've done in the past. I'm down to my last Kg of Vittoria beans from the last 2 for 1 woolies special. Was considering trying your beans to see what all the fuss was about. But in my case I would need an offer I couldn't refuse, to take that first step. I'd probably go for free ship and 2 for 1 on a couple of Kg's o beans.

    • So your budget is $7/kg? Ouch.

      • I'd spend up to $30/kg if it was worth it. But right now, I can't go past the $7/kg vittoria special. I have it set up to make a surprisingly nice shot in my saeco superauto, or do you want to hassle me about that too?

  • Not at all hassling you. Just pointing out that your budget is difficult for me to meet. I reckon you should give Bay Beans "espresso master" a try, it's $25/kg, or if you buy two 250g bags that will cost you only $16.80 and you will get an extra free bag as well.

The Saeco is a bean to cup machine? If it is, thats a perfect combo and especially useful for a no hassle brew. I have rediscovered my plunger recently - nice and clean taste.

    • +1

For the budget I was just meaning some sort of one-off introductory offer, just to get people to try it out. I will probably give yours a go once my supplies run out anyway, unless another woollies special shows up before then!

Yeah with the saeco you just put in the beans and water, and press the button whenever you want a hit. I used to use a semi auto where you have to grind/dose/tamp/extract manually, but I was just too hit and miss at it, in spite of how careful I was to get it just so. I was on about a 10% run rate. I'm sure you know you can totally ruin a shot by not doing it perfectly at every one of those steps. And it is so irritating to spend that amount of time only to be rewarded with a nasty bitter-arsed shot like you get at chain cafes.

Thats why I like the saeco, once you make all the various adjustments to suit your beans (which consumed/wasted about 500g of beans btw), you get the same shot every time after that at the press of the button.

  • woolies had Lavazza gold for $17 a KG 2 weeks back and it is very difficult to beat such pricing. i stocked up to the hilt.

    • I find Bay Beans fresher and more tasty than any prepackaged brand, inc Lavazza. Everyones different, but personally price is not my criteria when purchasing quality coffee beans. Coffee is my drug of choice :) Fact that this is well priced is incentive to but a little more - and drink a little more!

  • Brilliant! I'll be ordering again. Your coffee is delicious!

Thanks for fixing deal. You've shown what an asset you are to us all here. Love your work!

    • Thanks for your comments - it's great hear. If you have time, would appreciate your feedback on the "customer reviews" page of the website. There is an online form.
      Thanks, James. Bay Beans (rep)

  • Hi, James:

    If I buy 2 bags Espresso (250g) + 2 bags Mocha (250g), can I get 2 bags Fair Trade (250g)?

    Cheers.

  • Hi antkey. That will be fine. I will keep an eye out for it and you will receive a confirmation soon after I process your order.
Thanks, James. - Bay Beans (rep)

    • Hi James,

Thank you for your very quick response.

I have placed order. Would like to purchase more soon.

      Cheers,

  • i don't masquerade for anyone- speak from experience only. i don't claim to be a connoisseur but have been drinking coffee since ages. unless you roast your beans there is little difference between something you source from commercial profit making outfit and woolies. and Lavazza Glod is par excellence if you don't have the time to roast your beans. i don't need any proof because i have been there and done that.

    • Appreciate your info.

Yes, $17 per kg of Lavazza is really a steal. I should stock more last time.

Christmas is almost here, and I want to buy something special as gift for friends, so I would like to give Bay Beans Coffee a go.

      Cheers,

      • Bay Beans has the "espresso master" coffee at $23.70/kg which is pretty hot.
