  • Most planes now have single 3.5mm seems like they are giving away junk

Yep, even the airlines that have the double prong, one of those ports is still a 3 pole 3.5mm socket.

For this reason, Bose no longer include 2 prong converters with their latest headphones (ie QC35ii).

Sockets are around 70 cents shipped on Ali….. Catch is really taking the piss trying to charge $9 a piece!

Not on Qantas flights in regards to one being a stereo jack. Luckily they provide these double adaptors anyway.

I normally get mine for free on the Qantas headphones….they come with an easily removable adapter….save in the postage time….haha

    • I bought a $25usd adaptor after one leg of a Qantas flight, at the end of the last leg, realised the headphones in the seat pocket come with the adaptor. Zzzzzz

These are free upon request on many flights.

Flying is not the only activity humans do…
I've needed one of these for a variety of old equipment.
    Thanks OP, got two.

      like what?

      • Like microphone and I think remote control ports on old movie camera gear. Sony or Sharp camera kits in my case from memory. Can't recall others but a few times these adapters have been needed. I have twin prong headphones still which I've not used as I don't have the opposite to the adapter given away here.
I wonder if anyone's estimated how many unnecessary adapters have been created for electrical gear. Maybe > 1M. Cheers.
