IMHO still the best all round bang for buck phone. Thanks OP.

      No, iPhone X is!

Performance wise, is iPhone X better?

      • I think iphone x costs heaps more than this phone is too ???

Don't confuse this with the Redmi Note 4X …

        Good point!

        • Many have done that. Xiaomi could make their phone model naming a bit simpler.

        • @xywolap:

They have. See the Redmi 5 and 5 Plus.

        • @PainToad: Note or non note or X or non X?

Good deal. Great phone for the money. I just bought one for my Mum after my wife's been happy with hers for a few months.
About $5 more ($159.19) from shopmonk using PRAWNS if you don't want to wait a month or more. Relatively fast shipping from Singapore.

    • Bought one 2-3 weeks back for A$149 from shopmonk_australia.

Take shipping with a grain of salt.

I bought this phone from LITB on the 11th Jan with the same processing time of 2-4 business days and Expedited Express shipping 3-6 business days. The phone is still not even in Australia yet and was shipped from the Netherlands on the 24th.

I paid USD $ 127.99. Remember to pay in USD and let your CC company do the conversion.

Bought one of these for around $169, and it's quite a nice phone - similar to the Nexus 5 in size, has a metal shell which gives it that 'premium' feel and heft, and that battery with the 720p screen lasts for ages.

Bit of info if you are planning on unlocking it to put a custom rom (Lineage OS etc) on these type of phones:

Even if your Mi account already has permission to unlock the bootloader from their site, they seem to have put a timer into the software for unlocking new devices that you add to your account. I had to wait 72 hours until the miflash unlock program would let me unlock it, but others are reporting differing time frames; from a day, up to a week.

You used to be able to use an older version to bypass this waiting period, but they have since patched it to no longer work.

Still worth waiting imo, as Lineage makes these phones sooooo much better :)

Yep, Lineage OS on these entry level Xiaomi devices make for kick arse phones.

Still running my Redmi Note 3 with Lineage OS and it's superb.

  • I have this phone. It's a great PHONE for the money except it doesn't support 5GHZ WI-FI which is a bit pity for me because I can't use the company's WiFi .

    • The Redmi Note 4X Has 5 & 2.4 & auto setting.

      • Yes same goes to note 4 which I also own.

    HI,

Any deal for Xiamo Mi 6 128 gbs? Thanks

  • +1

On my Redmi Note 3 SE (kate) I need to set it to USA rather than default Australia wifi region for reliable wifi 5GHz and 2.4GHz. Also running latest lineageOS. Not sure if it a firmware or linageOS issue.

I just had a look around and with the Note 4X it seems that it is dependent on the user country setting. Mine is set to Singapore and shows the option to select 5gz but I have not tried it.

  • How's delivery times with this mob I'm looking to grab one of these

  • I couldn’t see where it supports Telstra LTE bands? Does it?
