NOTE: Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier Pro has a US Plug.

Safe to use in Australia, with an adapter. It has a range of 100V~240V.

  • 802.11b? It's not 1999 anymore…

Lucky, I had Dial up back in 1999.

      • +1

Same. I was buying Eisa unlimited dialup starter packs (comes with modems) which were being resold for $10 each from the swap meet. The lady saw me regularly and recognized me and knew what I wanted. When I eventually stopped buying them she offered them to me at a discount. $8 or something. I could have gotten that discount off her any time, I just never asked and she didn't need to offer it since I was buying them for $10.

When I had 10 accounts with the same name but a number added to the end of it, eisa eventually got annoyed, because you're not meant to resell these things. They were aksing me why I had so many accounts and never paid them a dime in all this time. That was when Goconnect and Freenet started so I moved to those and used them for free. Eventually there was someone paying you money to have ads play, so I had that on too and got paid to use the internet.

        Good times.

        • Haha I remember goconnect. Also remember using a program to block the ads. Then I moved onto iprimus where you were able to have two concurrent connections at the same time on one account so I split that with a mate.

        • @No Child Support: Nice. I think it's totally stupid to let an account be used by two people simultaneously, but I'd do it too if I knew about it.

There was some app that paid you to watch ads, so I had that up and got double ads. I just moved them to the side of the screen and muted it. Didn't pay for the net and instead they paid me. Not too bad. But all 3 of them eventually went tits up. I never clicked on a single ad.

  • Guys will this work to increase the wifi signal of a pocket wifi?

    • +1

Yes and 1/2's your band width. Slow coverage is better than no coverage.

    Hello MiniInTheBox,

The Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier Pro, that's the US model with 110v, will that even work in Australia?

    • His answer will be:
      Move to america, mate

    • Where did it say 110V? I have one and works fine without a step-down/up transformer. Just needed an AU plug

    • …wow, not realize that

    • +1

Like most modern technology, they have a range. This one has a range of 100V~240V.

Refer to this picture of the Xiaomi Wi-Fi Amplifier Pro

:) very good real feedback. you should make some review if possible.

Unfortunately, I don't own one. I found that image online.

        • +1

@RichardL: lol now you have a chance to buy one

        • +1

@MiniInTheBox: Don't need one right now. Already own too many Xiaomi Products.

        • +2

@RichardL: Too many Xiaomi products? Surely you jest…

  • +1

I just checked mine, it says 100 - 240V so it works fine. Unless there’s a different model that says 100V (doubt it, but happy to be corrected by the rep)

  • any idea how this compares to the USB powered WIFI extender? https://www.lightinthebox.com/xiaomi-usb-wifi-range-extender…

PS. any deals on that one would be nice :)

    • Was wondering the same thing - I have the USB powered one, works well!

    • The USB one is average at best (cos my modem is unfortunately at the end room of my house). Got a couple around the house to complement the Pro.
Just bought another Pro for good measure

  • Thanks.

  • Can the pro cater for 5GHz?

    • Nope. 2.4GHz

  • Good price on the Wiha set but unfortunately the shipping to Europe (CZ) is 4.76USD compared to 0.32USD from Gearbest.

That's what happens when you shop on an Aussie website

  • Thanks for this deal. bought the wifi amplifier pro.

will you have deal on Xiaomi Mijia Roborock Vacuum Cleaner 2 soon?

    • nope, shipping killed the deal. can't match any ebay's deal previously

  • Xiaomi WiFi Amplifier Pro Does it have a ethernet port available?as does not show in picture

    • Nope

  • Is there a Aussie version of the Pro?

    • You just need the AU plug (converter)

  • Would love if Xiaomi products could work without Mi Home. I don't trust what the Chinese govt does with your data.

    • Does this one require Mi Home? Sorry, new to that.

      • +1

        Yes

      • Every 'smart' device they make requires it.

Things like umbrella and socks don't.

  • +1

Terrible company to deal with. Brought a power pack from them back in October. After not receiving it I emailed them and they stated that somehow had over looked the order and that they would immediately send the item. I Waited another 6 weeks, no item received, emailed them again. Their reply was, we are looking into it and it will take 'about 1 - 2 months' to track the item. That's 6 months to get an answer as to were my item is. What a joke. Never buy from this mob again and i warn others.

    • ….very apologize for this bad experience. have you pmed me before? our CS process always slow. if you pmed me, i can offer priority support

  • How do I do that?

  • How does this compare to a UniFi WAP?
