      no rgb no buy

I'm not a huge fan of the RGB so went for the faster speed and tighter timings.

Also they use the Samsung B-die chips which seem to get good feedback.

I'm with you on that, turning the lights off on the mobo and gfx card was top priority after installing windows.
I managed to score 16gb gskill flarex 3200 c14 before christmas for $320 and now it's 399 at the same store, I bought a 580 and it is nearly 50% more expensive now, this mining thing blows.

        • My mainboard doesn't have RGB control - short of replacing the MB, is there any way to control the colour changing on this RAM?

Not looking to match/sync etc, just on/off would be fine.

  • It's $27 for shipping. Am I missing something?

    • No, Newegg shipping is always very pricey.

    • Yeah but it's still about $50 cheaper than local sellers.

Bit out of the loop here, why the hell is RAM so expensive now? I bought 16GB of Corsair DDR4 a few months back for $175

mining + chinese new year + Samsung/SK not making enough rams

    • Was it 3200?

    • Hell, I remember a time in the late 00s when a full kit of RAM (DDR3 at that time) was $40-60.

    • Huge demand for RAM from crypo-currency (BitCoin et al) farms in China and ROK (Sth Korea) pushing up both spot and forward prices. RAM manufacturers are erring on the conservative side by not pushing up manufacturing too high, but just enough to take advantage of the recent price hikes (too avoid being caught with having too much unsold inventory). Not likely to drop off real soon unless a major price correction or the bottom falling out of the crypto market… Buy RAM now while you can or wait it out…

  • Anyone seen a decent deal for 16gb DDR4 (Corsair?) notebook ram recently?

Are these B-die / Ryzen compatible?

    • best bang for buck i could find for the 370z chip

        Ram goes in Nissans now?

        • +1

          hahah oops… the z370 chip !

but the ECU in a 370Z would have some sort of volitional memory (usually KAM memory)

so yes.. ram does go into nissans now.

  • Price has dropped to $249.00 now.

    Nice deal now.

    • I think OP stuffed up the title and its $249 + delivery. Unless it did drop and I luckily bought it afterwards :)

      • yep the price dropped.
