After seeing the promos on Channel 9 about this upcoming series I did a bit of research and found that Blue Planet 2 has already been released in the UK. The boxset together with the original series is a great deal and I will be able to watch the series here before channel 9 ruin it with their promos/adverts.

  It's worth noting that the original series aired in 2001, so it's almost certainly not native HD. Most likely, it's upscaled. While a lot of US TV shows were already being filmed in HD in 2001, the UK was a bit behind the times as there was no HD terrestrial broadcasting there.
