this or the fly more? mavic air fly more comes with 3 batteries!

  • -2

I dont think this is fly more combo

    • It's not. As above, there aren't any deals with the fly more combo.

  • +2

Whatever you guys do, get the fly more version. I bought the Mavic pro after renting it at Camera Rental Centre in Singapore and tested it over a long weekend around an Indonesian island. Not sure if the Melbourne branch of Camera Rental Centre has drone available on rent.

Fly more combo with the extra batteries is the way to go.

  • Really?

Such a big price difference though… I'm pondering this exact choice..

  • -6

Probably best to mention that this isn't Australian stock, so won't be covered under Australian warranty.

    • +3

from the listing , looks aussie stock to me
      BRAND NEW. NEVER USED.
All DJI DRONES and accessories come with a full Australian 12 month warranty.
All DJI DRONES and accessories are sourced via the Australian importer and distributor.
SUPPLIED IN FULL RETAIL PACKAGING WITH TAX INVOICE.
      OFFICIAL DJI PHANTOM AUSTRALIAN RESELLER.

  • There is a credible rumour that the Mavic Pro II is imminent (next month): https://youtu.be/vM55dRqkLaA

Might want to hold off on the Air til then at least.

    • Agree, this is most likely true, however it will be +$1800 so will be at a different price point to the MA.
If you're just buying because it's the latest, then you should wait.
If you're buying because the price is attractive or the size of the unit, I don't think it should deter you.

      • It's supposed to have better range (back to RF rather than the WiFi on the Air), better battery life and a much improved camera.

        • The same is true of the original mavic pro.

  • Can't you just get this one and then buy whatever extras the "Fly More" combo has afterwards?
Surely that will still be cheaper? It's practically just 2x extra batteries, no?

Edit: My bad, I didn't see the Goggles :P

    • goggles is a separate purchase. doesn't come with FMC

      • damn, so what is the point of getting the FMC in the first place then?

        • extra battery total 3 & charging hub. the battery itself is $139 each.

    • +2
      • 2 extra batteries - $139 each
      • battery charger hub - $79
      • carry bag - $119
      • battery bank adapter - $29

Total $505 difference. So you end up basically exactly the same price as the RRP flymore at the moment

      $1040 + $505 = $1590

      Flymore package currently $1599.

      $9 saving

I sold my Mavic Pro and bought a Mavic Air Flymore this Saturday if anyone has any questions on my thoughts regarding the two.

  • This seems like an unjacked price….

Hmm, This or the fly more though? Indecision means i'll probably miss out on this deal though :|

  • Well, I stupidly bought this….

Flying out next Friday, this better arrive in time for TRS!!!

After TRS and CR this is $908.12. Not too bad compared to the $799USD price.

Thanks OP! Well spotted. It seems like this one hasn't been price jacked for the 20% sale!

    • How does TRS work when you re-enter Aus?

      • no need to do anything

        • If you are caught bringing it back into the country you are up for the GST I think you will find.

        • @Pavle:

there are also depreciation rates, which basically means they won't bother..
          https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2687006&…

        • @Pavle:

It will be at or very near to the limit plus if travelling with family he can pool to get $1800. Customs won't be interested.

        • @r0xz: @gadgetguy: okay thanks

        • @Pavle: plus cc fee if you do not have cash or sufficient fund in savings account. No split payment

    • you missed the FMC from Futu earlier today. just $1075.65 after TRS.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/359514#comment-5609692

      • Wow! I saw that but thought it was $1452. Was it just the black one that was even cheaper?

Is Futu confirmed to have a tax invoice for TRS? Doesn't say local AU stock/warranty and tax invoice like DCXpert does.

        • +1

the white one was $1699, they jacked the black to $1799 earlier today but then someone snapped it after the new coupon posted here. l0l-

Bought a spark combo from this company last eBay sale. Super fast shipping to WA, was less than 48hrs.

    • Yep, me too. Super fast shipping to Perth.

      • awesome.

        Mine's been shipped already!

    • i bought a lens filter from them today.
      It has been already shipped.
      They are just the best.

      • Oh wow, 3pm order Tuesday, Wednesday arrival in my parcel locker!

        So impressive!

Now, where to fly this puppy :D

  • These are sold out, I've asked dcxpert via Facebook if they can list the Fly More combo.

  • Now out of stock

  • out of stock.

  • This or Xiaomi 4k drone?

    • Xiaomi is half the price, way larger and should get greater range.

      • I think functionality this has better app and control.

        • For $1500 it better

  • Spoke with dcxpert, they won't have any fly more combos for 4 weeks.

I have a very new Mavic Pro. I would advise not to buy these drones from an overseas supplier. Although they are awesome and very reliable products, I know of plenty of people who have had problems with brand new DJI drones - which are very advanced for a consumer grade unit. I bought mine from Camera House and I was glad that I did, as the controller failed completely on its very first charge. I took it straight back to CH and they happily swapped out the controller with no hassles. I was talking to someone last week who's Mavic had to be replaced straight out of the box - no problem at JB.

Apart from that, very happy with the Mavic Pro. I prefer it to the Air as you get more flight time and a better controller. The one to look out for is the Mavic Pro 2 which, from internet rumours, is due before mid-year. The talk is of 40min flight time, all aspect sensors, better camera and quieter.

    • See the link I posted above

      • That'll be interesting if true as the Air has just launched and the Pro II will probably cannibalise Air sales.

I'm surprised at no rear sensor but the camera sounds awesome. So no 40 minute flight time. I'm not really surprised as the Mavic is probably at the limit of battery/performance at a consumer-level price point.

  • I think dcxpert limits the quantities, but if they have stock they will restock on the listing. They're an authorized DJI reseller, proper Australian stock and warranty. Bought a Mavic Pro Platinum and also Sandisk microSD and I can vouch for it being local stock.

Mate got his on the weekend and I must say the Air is by far the most fun ive ever had with a drone. Makes the Mavic Pro seem like a slug.

Put this baby into Sport Mode and its amazing!

  • Sucks.. out of stock already.
Dji spark fly more combo is quite cheap now.
Would you guys go for the spark at its current price or still get the Mavic Air?

    • I was looking at Spark or Mavic Pro Platinum and ended up with a Mavic Pro Platinum. But if it's Spark or Mavic Air, I'd get the Mavic Air in saying that I'm still pretty happy with my Mavic Pro Platinum… keeping an eye on the release of Mavic Pro 2.

There's a few deals on the Air/Fly More at the moment @ Catch eBay, not sure how many are in stock so didn't bother posting. Says AU Stock on the post and confirmed in the description.

Bit more expensive but they're in stock.

DJI Mavic Air Fly More Combo Drone w/ 4K Camera - Arctic White $1,325 Delivered for AU Stock.

DJI Mavic Air Drone w/ 4K Camera - Onyx Black for $1078 Delivered. Also Arctic White.

    Hope someone gets it!

    • catch doesnt have the flymore. the present20 deal finishes tomorrow (although ebay pops these up quite frequently) . anyway I have ordered a standard air because its australian stock and i can claim the GST through TRS. I have the invoice so its correct.
