  • OVERVIEW If you're heading along the beaten trail for a rough 4wd adventure but cannot sacrifice a good night sleep, then the 4wd mattress will be your savour

These mats are fantastic, most comfortable sleep I have had camping. They take up a fair bit of room rolled up though which is the compromise.

i agree these things are huge. Not suitable if you are going with a group of people and storage in the car is limited.

I now have one of those battery powered blow up beds.

Sadly it’s only the single on sale at eBay with the $9.99 delivery

Queen size isn’t available at eBay and has a delivery charge if $34.99.

If there’s a rep your there that can help with delivery, please shout out.

We recently bought the queen and went camping with it the first time over Australia Day long weekend. With hindsight I would not buy this again - rather I would get two singles instead. While it is comfortable, it is not bonded (the foam is not attached to the cover). It tends to "billow" and if the other person moves a muscle you feel it. If you're both heavy sleepers the you might be ok, otherwise, steer clear and go for two singles.

Also, the Queen is just incredibly huge when rolled up! I spent ages trying to get it to fit in the basket on the roof racks and just asked a friend with a trailer to bring it back - it is seriously large when rolled up. Not to mention the fact you will struggle to roll it up by yourself - it's a two-person job.

I wish I had read this comment before I bought mine - if you want a second hand one (used once only) we can do a deal :-) and I'll get two singles from this sale.

      • While you won't have to worry about another person bouncing you around on a single the outer will eventually come apart from the foam and it'll be like sleeping on a balloon…not comfortable at all.

Get a cheapy and wait for a deal on Exped or something similar, they're pricey but very comfy and pack up small.

      • @macfudge Good advice thank you.

Two singles does sound like a better option for sleeping comfort and ease of storage.

      • Completely agree with this comment and the above. We brought a queen and it was great the first couple of times, but after that the air started moving around from under you, so it was just the foam filling you were sleeping on. End up buying two single black wolf mega/super deluxe beds which are the most comfortable thing I've slept on(bar an expensive proper bed), but they're not an Oz Bargain friendly price at all.

    • I second this.

      Interested in Queen.

  • Thanks. Bought 3. Voucher made it free delivery.

  • We've had our double for several years and it's been great, it sounds like the current ones are of worse quality
