Ikea Eat Your Discount Promotion WA&SA Only

350

This is basically the same promo as the previous eat your discount promo.
Good thing is it runs all the way up until Christmas Eve. This is only valid Monday to Friday, but a lot of people will be finishing up work for the year either this week or next week. I have copied and pasted the below info from the previous WA & SA eat your discount promo.

The Ikea Eat Your Discount promotion is on again, except for the first time its applicable to people of WA and SA only.

I think previous OzBargain threads have said that WA and SA Ikea stores have been omitted from previous Eat your discount promotions because the WA and SA stores are owned by a different mob to the Eastern States stores.

There are some terms and conditions you need to read but basically it works like this.
Buy and consume anything in the Ikea restaurant. Keep receipt. Get the dollar amount you consumed taken off at the registers.

  • It was crazy when the promo was in Vic, people is everywhere o.o can't even find a chair to seat on xD

  • Tip: I found this out to my disadvantage: Put all food purchases under one receipt. At the checkout they would only process one, so I picked the higher spend receipt and had to forgo the other.

    • Im thinking that is so people dont go bin diving for receipts from people who dont know about the promo. Could collect $1000 worth of food receipts and then get a free bit of furniture to that value.

      • Also it would slow down the checkout. Hard not to know about the promo unless you cannot read the signs.

  • Does Ikea ever have % off sales? eg 20% off everything.

I've been after a $400 chair for 6 months and it never seems to go on sale.

Just eat $80 worth of meatballs so when you roll (literally) up to the checkout, at least you'll feel like you're getting a discount. And as an upside, you may not ever need to eat again. As a downside, you may not fit in your chair.

    • They had a 20% all kitchen wear the other day!

Sorry, boycotting all things Swedish due to the trumped-up sex charges against Assange.

Anyone want to join me in a picket line?

What are you, a liberal arts major? Let's all stop eating sushi because Japan is the only nation that has ever attacked Australian soil. Let's all stop celebrating Christmas because it's actually a pagan holiday. In fact, let's all stop visiting ozbargain because you do.

      • A lot of people stopped eating sushi during WWII, I imagine. That war is over.

… oh, I give up. Some people really need an irony transplant.

Thanks for the tip Stone. I was going anyway, will make it lunchtime now.
(why does Beta hate liberal arts majors? (An American term BTW - we call them Arts graduates. Or fast-food purveyors.))

        • Most of all the japanese. Radiated fish stocks just don't have the same palatability.

Ah well if it was in irony, I shall mod you back up to respectability.

And what, you gonna stop boycott american things now… like Holdens (and Fords)? ;)

        • You'd be surprised. I've met people who today in their 30s who will not buy a Japanese branded car (even if built in Australia) as their grandfather fought and suffered in WW2.

Regarding the sushi thing, it was virtually unknown in Australia during the 1940s anyway :-)

    • Yeah man, I'm now keying any Volvo I pass.
And I also stopped listening to my uni lecturer who happens to be Swedish, the evil bastard.
Oh and I was like, halfway through The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo but I dropped it when they arrested Julian.
Enjoy your one man "Swedish-Proof Fence"

I've boycotted The Muppet Show. That Swedish chef! The bastard! Bork bork bork.

    • Don't forget paypal too… :)

    • A lot of good your boycott will do :P If you're serious, signup or donate to the Getup campaign, write a letter to the paper, or a lot of other positive steps.

  • Dont even bother with it, i went to check out Ikea at Rhodes and the ques where about an hour+ long. There were no seats and the food was absolute shit. Looked like vomit on a plate and smelled horrible. wouldn't eat it at all.

    • It was fine the day I went, no more crowded than usual, but then it wasn't Friday.

    • I went on a Saturday morning in Perth, no queue and food was ok. Not the best but cheap.
