      Thanks. Added

"Removable water purification filter" That is some fancy words for a plastic/nylon mesh

  • One Kogan was enough in title, it appears like Kogan Bogan

    • +3

Thanks. will have to settle for two.

  • Thanks.

  • what makes this a smart kettle?

    • +1

good question - I think it comes from a different colour illuminating light based on temperature.

How will it upgrade kitchen and morning cuppa?
Is it by colourful illuminating light and stylish body glass?
      Crazy marketing!

      • It's scientifically proven that RGB will improve the quality of your morning cuppa.

        • or CMYK?

    Aren't all kettles cordless?

    • +5

      how old are you?

      • +1

i think that was an honest question…
i was thrown off a bit when i saw the title say 'cordless', i intentionally thought the base had no cord, so where is the power coming from? infrared? must be some kind of technology advancement I've never heard of yet.

        • Don't worry, I went through exactly the same thing.

      • how old are you?

That's irrelevant, it's 2018 and all kettles are cordless, therefore to highlight that as a main feature is rather pointless.

        • +2

I'm still using a corded kettle. unironically check your privilege lol

        • @Shepard:

You know what I meant, all modern kettles are cordless, so unless this deal is specifically for a corded kettle I think it's safe to assume it's cordless. :)

        • inb4 someone asks if it's corded or not. there's no harm in additional information imo.

        • +1

          @Shepard:

That's like posting a deal for a laptop and including 'WiFi' in the title.

        • @Lorindor:
          What is WiFi?

  • +2

It would be useful if we could get a comment from someone who has used the kettle.

    • Have the previous stainless steel model.
Can set the cutout temperature,so excellent for green tea or starting a batch of yogurt.

Problem with buying from kogan (online) how do you return it if the glass cracks ? I bought mine in Kmart and bigw cause I had to refund twice for glass crack twice .

    • +1

you send them an inquiry and if they have stock they'll send u another or if they dont they'll give u a full refund.

      • they should be asking you to return the damaged one back to them

        • +1

i've never really encountered that with kogan before. perhaps it's the words i use when lodging a return/faulty product

        • @Shepard: shouldn't be your words, policy should be same for every customer

        • +1

then as i said before, i've never had to return anything to kogan

    • +1

Just about to send an enquiry to them for my kettle as the lid has stopped closing (different model).

I'm expecting it to be relatively painless. Recently I inquired about missing bolts on my pool umbrella. After they requested some photos, they gave me the option of sending it back for a replacement or a partial refund to cover the bolts.

    • Update: Just got a refund. Sent them a video. Didn't need to send the item back.

  • +1

smart? let me know when its wifi

    • +1

WiFi for what? Transferring water to your mouth without opening its lid?

      • +1

have u seen black mirror? haha ;)

      • it's so you can switch on the keep warm function while at work…so you can come home to a 90 degree cuppa and a $1000 electricity bill

    • +1

B28 or nothing as what all the cool kids will say.

  • Where can I get a truely cordless smart kettle that can boil the water from cold with the battery alone.

    • And boil eggs on top?

    • Ever heard of this one?

“As he sang as he watched and waited ‘til his billy boiled”

Billycans are truely cordless, all you need is a flame!

And I’m pretty sure you can pick one up from all good camping stores…

      • +1

You still need a cord of firewood to keep it running.

  • +1

    TL;DR

I want a colour changing infra-red LED kettle that is completely cordless, boils from the battery alone, connects to wifi and features uncrackable glass.

  • +3

"Simply leave the Kogan 2.0L Cordless Smart Glass Kettle on the Keep Warm function overnight, and wake up to perfect, ready-to-pour 80°C water the second you get out of bed."

Are you kidding me! Keep water at 80° overnight in an non-insulated container?! More like "wake up to a $1000 electric bill"….

This is not a "smart kettle". It simply has the ability to specify temperature, which is not a new feature.

  • +2

I purchased this item and received today. It boils slow compared to my other kettle, the "keep warm" feature is a little awkward to use, you need to set the temperature and hold the power button for 3 seconds. The manual does not make this clear. You cannot "keep warm" at 100c, 90c max. The description at one point suggested keep warm goes for multiple hours, but it goes into standby after 30 minutes (based on the manual).

For the price it's decent if you want a large temperature varying kettle, but I'd look elsewhere if you want speed/a decent keep warm function.
I have a "Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Programmable Kettle 1.7L" this was going to replace. That works much better, but is much more expensive and has it's own issues in my experience, e.g. the lid on mine is flakey and needs to be pryed open at this point.

    • Updated after working out how to use "keep warm" above 50c.
    • How noisy is it dbrain?
A key feature of a kettle for me is how loud it is.

  • BAD DEAL

first kettle the light stays red and it boils and doesnt turn off
Got a replacement and it does the same
Very dangerous will post a video soon

  • Looked closely at it but $35, $69, $39 just bouncing around and getting on my nerves. Just got a luminary/clear/home&Co at Kmart, which for its trade offs looks like a refined Kambrook double the cost I reckon.

My single curiosity around the Kogan coloured/variable range would be boil time for 1 litre to half temp or 50c, and then for 100. Didn't see it.
