nothing that can't be fixed with pliers

Not so good around the kiddies as they don’t have the protected/insulated pins…!

Not to mention they don’t plug all the way in when pins r bent as it puts a twist into the pin, been there done that… OK with a device that an adult would use on occasion, but not for a permanent fix spesh when kids could be near it & play…

Yeah see my previous deal on these regarding safety.

          They are pretty shoddy.

thanks. someone in the previous deal has said the plastic cracks easily if you try to bend the plugs, so i guess an adapter is the only way.

  • I love my one of these I got in the last deal. Perfect for the middle of the night bathroom visit.

  • I got one. Would buy another if it came in AU plug.

    "Pretty Safe"

I purchased one of these from last deal. Broke easily exposing live wires. Definitely not a safe product

  • Pretty Safe
No need batteries and no heat from lamp, safe for use.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? A light that runs on ordinary alkaline batteries is much safer than one runs on mains power.

A 220V-rated appliance running on Australian mains, that frequently reach 250V? No way I'd leave that running while I'm asleep.

  • Too dangerous for most uses, such as a home with kids in it. As noted above, the pins aren't insulated and twisting with pliers or using an adapter either leaves pins exposed or device prone to falling out.
I'm also concerned by the comments above that the plastic cracks easily.

    • EU plug just has cylindrical prongs. There's no twisting. And for goodness sake, don't do that.

Get an adapter or a Xiaomi strip. I have one in a Xiaomi strip, but I don't have any more strips so I can't get another. And I don't want to use an adapter because it will stick out even further looking very silly.

    Xiaomi power strip + this.

  • Or… why don't countries make one standard for the whole world and slowly phase out the old style. While it's harder to standardise electricity, like the US has 120V while here 240V, this shouldn't even be talked about which adapter. yet all the talk about waste, recycling, saving… plus, would rather have European Style plug as it can fit either way, while in Australia you can put it one and only one way. Plus some houses still have power points next to the floor making it really bad when you want to plug in something that isn't just straightforward, but cable coming at 90°. So wasteful society…
