Sounds like a cool but completely useless promotion. I'd be hard pressed to finish one let alone two… also, what happens if you don't finish the second one? Do they charge you full price for that but let you take it home?

Lone Star has had some VERY questionable management practices in place for a while now and various restaurants of their's have gone to the wall

For the price I wouldn't even bother with just the one!

    • +6

also, what happens if you don't finish the second one? Do they charge you full price for that but let you take it home?

I think this would refer more to ordering you next burger you need to finish the plate you are on.
If not and they try saying you need to pay for it because you didnโ€™t finish it just eat it until you vomit all over the table, then request another burger โ€œnext pleaseโ€.

"More Food" …. "and a bucket"

        • +5

A new bucket for monsieur… and ze cleaning woman.

      • +1

I think it's more to prevent customers from ordering multiple burgers at once and wasting them. And to prevent customers from consuming only the expensive nutritious parts of the burger (eg the meat and cheese) and leaving the filling parts (eg the bun).

  • +6

Must order the same burger is pretty crap. Why can't you just pay for the highest prcied one.

    • The idiots are probably hoping you'd buy a different one for god knows what reason

    • if you arenโ€™t going for 3rd burger just strip what you donโ€™t want from the 2 nd if youโ€™ve ordered a high priced burger ,

  • +8

    prices range from $14.95

    lol

I can buy 4 HJ Whoppers for that !!!

    • I'd pay $15 for a steak, but a burger? Rather go to McDonald's for a CYT in lettuce

Right now they'd all come with a free chips and coke too! (Unless that deal has ended or you are using a voucher… which I know you are)

      • +1

What kind of crappy steak costs $15!?

Today I learnt ozbargainers eat rubbish food because it's cheap.

    • +3

Thereโ€™s burgers, and then thereโ€™s HJs and McDonaldโ€™s - why do you think Grillโ€™d deals are so popular?

      • -1

why do you think Grillโ€™d deals are so popular?

        I donโ€™t like Grillโ€d

        • +6

          Should we care?

        • -2

          @chrism238:

Should we can about your opinion? Why did you post it?

        • @jv:

Mine was an observation about what we observe on OB; yours just narcissistic.

          @chrism238:

          Mine was an observation

Nope, your claim that I think Grill'd is popular is incorrect

      • +5

        Millenials.

HJ is made from frozen meat, these are possibly fresh meat, cooks and tastes very different and has a higher cost , my local burger place in st kilda is fresh ground meat delivered daily…. really notice the difference.

but then grilld is also frozen.

      • +3

        these are possibly fresh

        or possibly not…

    • and I can eat 4 Whoopers in a sitting. Whatever burger they have, its going to be better than whoppers.

      • its going to be better than whoppers.

doubt it… they don't look that appetising in the pics.

    $18.95 for double cheeseburger

    ROFLMAO !!!!

I don't want to wait for my second burger and lose my momentum.

Went there once, never again. The burger I ordered appeared 15 minutes after the other meals and it had undercooked (raw) bacon. Pointed it out to one of the half a dozen different waiters who randomly served our table during the dinner and got a blank response. Walked past the restaurant recently and it was closed with a health dept warning sign on the front. Beware…

    • Maybe they want you to become vegan.

    • +1

thatโ€™s why open kitchens at eateries ar appealing, you can see what and how they are cooking and they take more care.

  • Can I get a doggy bag to take home my unlimited burgers?

  • +1

Well.. it's not like their burgers are cheap. I see people struggling past 1 or 2 burgers let alone anything more.

    • Well.. all you can eat have never been for everyone. 3 is probably the minimum for the deal to be worth while, and that should be pretty achievable. Its also a proper restaurant as well, so you take your time instead of rushing it.

      • +1

Come on, everyone knows rushing it is the way to eat more.

  • +1

If you started off with lessbottom, bottomless burgers will sort that out

They were closed by the ACT Health Department last month. They weren't open for over 3 weeks and are now under new management.

    • +4

Thatโ€™s funny cause probably 3-6 months before they got closed down they were announcing that they were under new management lol. So 3 owners in a year? Not a good sign

      • +2

They are the same company as Outback Jacks that was in the same spot. They went through several changes of management too. The people who run both companies are really nasty to deal with. We had problems there and tried to contact their head office and they couldn't care less and were very rude.

  • +1

    Do they include chips?

    • +2

Yup. Gotta eat EVERYTHING before they'll give you another serving.

      • Couldn't you just eat slowly and have a big gap inbetween?

  • +2

"Must order same burger" surely one would get sick of eating same burger over and over. If I was to eat 3 or 4 burgers, I would definitely want at least some variety in burger. Maybe they allow different sauces, to at least mix it up slightly.

Came here tonight and got seduced by the AYCE ribs and wings instead. Plenty of others here vying for glory and expanding waistlines. I am approximately 2.5kg heavier and covered in delicious BBQ sauce. (Raw sauce. No ketchup. Just sauce)

Like the rookie I am, I didn't bring elasticised pants in my luggage this morning (I only saw this deal as I boarded my plane), and am soon heading to Woolies to buy needle and thread. Hopefully I can find my button…

Oh, and a stately tip of the hat to the lady at the table next to me currently finishing her third double cheeseburger. If you aren't already a member, please enjoy a lifetime membership to OzB, my shout.

    • I was also there tonight and only managed to smash down 2 burgers and the first set of chips. I chose the Hawaiian burger and it was actually bigger than I thought, large amount of chips too.

  • Don't get seduced by anything at this place…
The ACT Health Protection Service served a prohibition notice on the Lone Star Rib House. The LSRH has since been listed for sale.
