  • Check your local Bunnings for one of these. I had one for 2 years. Great to have adapters for different countries.

My local Bunnings put them in a basket far away from the other USB travel chargers. Make sure you walk all aisles in the electrical section.

  • It would work.. if all you need is 4 devices at any one time

  • why not bring an adapter and a power board.. that way you can charge things that aren't USB as well. OK for phone and tablet

    • cameras usually require high amp power source to charge battery..
    • laptop
    • shaver
    • I will only have my macbook to charge if i decide to take it. Is it worth having the adaptor/powerboard for just that

      • depends on what you want to charge and if all at the same time.

I had wife and kids with 2x phones, 2x tablets, 1x camera, 1x shaver, 1x laptop.

I had already a japan to Australia adapter and brought a long a double adapter which I also had at home.

2x usb chargers and 2 cables. that charged the 2x phones, 2x tablets 1x powerbank
camera, shaver, and laptop required its only plug.

  • A four port should be ok if it's just to power your own devices. Also get a decent power bank to charge on the go, particularly if you'll be using a pocket wifi device.

    • yeah just my devices. Got 2x powerbanks. Pocket wifi v data sim?? What do you think

  • Last time I was in Japan, I got by with a USB charger for my devices.

Since you mentioned Macbook, you might want one that does USB PD like the one from this Tronsmart 60W Type-C USB-PD 5 Port Charger deal.

You can then just get a 2 prong figure 8 cable from Bunnings or Ebay that will work in Japan.

edit: Unless I misunderstood and your Macbook uses a Magsafe connector instead of USB-C, in which case USB PD isn't necessary and you just need a travel adaptor.

    • Yeah doesnt have a usb c port
