starting from 11:00am Friday (Qld time).

Why would a store based in Melbourne quote Qld time ????

    • Because that would make it Australian Eastern Standard Time

      • Pretty sure the 11am on their website would refer to the time at the office in Melbourne.

Unless you can do pickup, shop for me is a poor option for buying lego.

And anything that actually looks like a decent grab they chuck "sold out" on it, just for it to magically come back into stock after a sale.

Also some of their prices are like they were smoking crack when deciding them, $250 original price for the Minecraft Treehouse? Morons.

    • Unless you can do pickup

Their site shows you can only pick up Saturdays 11:00am - 3:00pm… Kind of very restrictive…

You can probably do a price match and pick up from another store this evening though…

      • I don't think that's a big deal. It's more of a warehouse that lets you pick up if you really want, not a proper shopfront.

Everything decent being out of stock though :/

Yep that is their standard practice. They are pretty much just glorified scalpers.

          @Richmond Tigers:

No its not standard practice, the sale has been live for 2 hours now. if you missed out go get another retailer to match the price.

2nd this, had heaps of bad experiences with them and the whole 'sold out' upon sale start thing is getting old fast.

I’ve never had a problem with Shopforme. They have increase their free postage threshold from $150 to $200 which hurts a bit but LEGO is expensive to post. The issue with items being out of stock I think is because LEGO sell you a set rather than what you want. So they would often sell out of more popular items first and not be able to replace stock until they order another full set.

I’ve read before that LEGO sell to businesses at 30% off retail. I’m guessing Shopforme are getting a better deal but their margains must be pretty tight so there is no surprise they try to make more money off old/rare sets.

    • I've placed more orders than I should admit and never had an issue. $200 shipping limit is just an excuse to buy more :-).

Stock availability can be annoying, but prices on sale are good.

  • Meh no taj mahal or falcon, and the mack truck is sold out and wouldn't qualify for free shipping anyway. meh

  • I live several blocks away and find them to be friendly AFOLs to deal with :)

I'm still waiting for my order to ship from the 12/2, took them 6 days to tell me I was subject to some credit fraud protection crap, waited 4 days for the refunded amount to go into my CC, and now it's been another 2 days and it's still not shipped out and now it's the weekend, sigh.

Will be the last time I shop from them.

      • That's been inflated because it's a discontinued line / range. But the Fishpond seller isn't claiming that's the original price.
I've just seen a Lego City Calendar on ShopForMe with an original price given as $59, which is ten more than the Lego site had it listed at.

  • Missed the Apollo again.

  • Yep I placed a order with this mob on 23rd Feb am. Got the order confirmation and nothing since. This is not a first time order so that crap on their website does not apply. Sent them a email today requesting clarification of the order status no answer. The items ordered were out of stock the very next day given their 30% off sale on new as yet to appear on major retailers shelves I can understand if their allocation is sold out at those prices. I fear they had no stock to begin with before their "sale" and were waiting on their stock. There was no mention the possible delay on their website so I would say it is bordering on misrepresentation.
