      • If they had unlimited stock, sure.

If they're only making $2 profit, it would be worth giving up the sale and selling it to someone else later for a bigger margin.

        It's called opportunity cost.

Razor thin margins of less than 1% would only be viable at a supermarket, and even for them it's too small.

That said, the staff member isn't going to care. It's not their margins to worry about. If you asked the owner/manager of JB, they'd be more reluctant.

  • Just price matched at chadstone. Bought the telstra sim only plan and got the $150 gift card. Used the gift card to purchase this. All done including porting within 40 minutes. Salesperson didn't even check the Harvey Norman web site. He just asked me the price.

You must have a trust worthy face, lol!
The stuff in JB checked the price online in person using one of the mac demo in store

I price matched at JB hi fi Chadstone earlier today, the sales person looked up the price online with Harvey Norman, he was surprised at the price. Thanks OP.

  • Price matched at JB hi-fi in Eastland. As I was on the level above JB Hi-Fi, a guy saw the yellow JB bag and asked me where JB was. I told him it was a level below. Should have also mentioned that I picked up the last one. Oh well…

    • +2

      Maybe he wasn't after this?

      • Looked like an Ozbargainer from the demeanor. The way he rushed as soon as I told him where JB was.

hahaha told a family at jb that was tossing up between qc35 and this at the $499 mark. made their choice much easier.

The HN website still had it for $447. Stock sold out in Vic it would seem. If you can get it today at the $310. Its a great price.
Pros - Best NC and sound compared to other similar priced competitors. Touch funtions. Hold right cup and you can hear outside noise, long tap and access siri or google assist from phone. touch pairing with phone. Battery lasts for 30hours. Looks great.

Cons -Sound not for audiophiles. The sound quality is compromised by NC. Having said that its fine for commutting. Cant easily pair with more than 1 devices you need to switch off 1 bluetooth and pair with other. Calls are no good as to much noise coming through to caller.
Not as comfortable to where at start, but comes good after a few weeks. Note I wear glasses so was pinching at start due to clamp force, but now fine. Give yourself time to wear them in. I do sweat a bit in the earcup on hot days.

Otherwise best NC headphones as this price point compared to Bose QC35II

    Hope this helps.

If the sound is a con on these i cant imagine what it would be on the Bose…. a double con?

      • Only a few testers and 1 review that I know who is critical of the Xm2 who did acknowledge he was looking at it from an Audiophile point of view and being able to compare many headphones. That it not being the best sound. I have no issues and nor do others with the quaiity. Like with anything test them out for yourself and make your own descisions. Just flagging that the sound may not be to everyones taste.

  • Received it just now. Awesome

    • Lucky… How quickly did you get shipping update after purchase?
No update on my order and chat said no one has stock in Victoria and they ship them from the stores… Second shitty experience with Harvey Norman - she said could take up to 2 weeks to receive.

      • I’m in Melbourne. Item ordered at 9:32am and shippment notification received at 10:14am om the same day from Chirnside Park VIC by Courier Please

      • I just went to my local store (where I requested click and collect) and also used the online chat service and I got a general response that it usually takes 2-3 weeks for backorders to be fulfilled.

Not sure if this is good or bad :(

        • If it is a 3 week wait you might find it cheaper again.

        • @Dedbny:

          :'(

        • @kakarot123:

Wouldnt worry. It will always get cheaper.. Just enjoy it when it comes. They really are great headphones.

  • Have many people received their order? I ordered mid day Saturday and haven't heard anything apart from my order being delayed :(

    • Only the lucky ones who got in first received it from stock they had. The rest of us will be waiting weeks for stock to arrive - wouldn't surprise me if they decide to start cancelling orders saying they cant fulfil them. They did that previously to me.

      • That would actually be so sad :(

Just chiming in, Melbourne here and still on back order. Pretty annoyed cause the q35 was on sale a couple of days after this but didn’t bother because I ordered the Sony.

    • Just received call that there won’t be stock until up to a month. Persuaded me to cancel order which I did.

      • +1

Isn't it ridiculous they take so many orders they cannot fulfil? How hard is it for the website to be linked to current stock? Joke of a company….

        • +1

They need some professionals to fix their web based sales system.

      • oh no, that is no good. I was told it can take upto 2 weeks to restock. I'm still waiting as well and the status of my order on my HN account still says "Processing"….grrrrrrrr!!!!

        • Yeah I just contacted them and they said at least 10 business days from the order time. I also asked them whether they could confirm that we would receive our order and they couldn't confirm it (they might cancel it).

Pretty frustrating to say the least as mine like yours still says "processing".

@kakarot123: I still have mine still in shrink wrapped. Not sure to open it or not.

Still waiting and status still says "processing".

I wonder if its actually legal to sell something that they don't have stock of??!! Hmmmm

        • @ezza80:

Same here, getting kinda sad haha

        • @ezza80:

Just spoke to live chat to enquire about the order. They said that the warehouse has limited stock so they are essentially still waiting on it.

          Pretty disappointing.

        • @kakarot123:

Indeed! I just checked my order status under my accounts in the HN website.

It used to say "processing", it now says "new". I think thats worse???? Sigh!

        • @ezza80: just checked mine and it still says processing :(

        • @kakarot123:

          Gosh, who knows now… :(

I'll come back to keep you posted when things change on my end (if it does happen!)

        • +1

          @ezza80:

That would be great. I'll keep you posted as well although I'm really not expecting much anymore.

        • @ezza80:

Alright so just got off from livechat again to enquire about the order.

They replied with a generic sorry it's still on backorder. The suppliers (sony) haven't gotten back to us but they wouldn't give me any indication of ETA.

          Surely this can't be right?

        • @kakarot123:

Hey mate, sorry to hear this!

Hopefully this will bring some light, I just received an email last night to say that my order has been shipped!!!!

Hope you'll be getting yours soon too!

        • @ezza80:

Hey mate, thanks for your update. I just received an email saying it's ready for pickup. Hope it will be all worth it :)

Good stuffs! Happy listening, hopefully mine will arrive by middle of next week! :P

        • @ezza80: Do you reside in melb by any chance?

        • @No Child Support:

Nah mate, I live in Bne

          @kakarot123:

          Tried the headphones yet?

          They are awesome!

        • @ezza80:

They are bloody awesome. Really happy with them. Wish it was $280 though ;)

        • @kakarot123:

          Hahaha…agreed!

I just have one slight issue:

Whenver I'm on public transport (bus), I get a "flopping" or "floop" sound whenever the bus goes over a bumpy road. For example, it goes over 4 consecutive bumps, I'll get 4 "floop floop floop floop" noise in my head phones, it gets quiet annoying!

Turn off NC and I don't get that sound anymore, but obviously I can hear the rest of the ambient sound.

By adjusting the noise cancelling to "Wind Noise reduction" has reduced that "flopping" sound whenever going over a bump, but I still get a little bit of it.

Do you get the same thing or any idea how I can fix it?

        • @ezza80:

Damn, to be honest I haven't used the bus recently and I've only used it while drivnig or while on the train :(

I might give it a search or something.

  • Anyone with Costco membership should cancel and purchase there for 280.

  • Just received shipping notification from Harvey Norman which I’m assuming are the head phones

  • Finally picked my pair instore! About time…worth the wait though.
