Looking for The Best NBN Plan for Seniors

Looking for NBN plan for my parents (aged 70+). Wondering if anyone has any plans/bundles targeted towards seniors.

They don't download much so an unlimited data plan isn't really necessary. NBN basic speed would probably do them however not sure i'd like to sign them up to a 24 month contract @ 12mbps.

Would like it bundled with a phone plan which gives them unlimited local and std calls.

Best i've found so far is the 100gb TPG plan on 18 month contract for $49 a month.
Telstra has a seniors one for $59 a month (25gb, 24 month).
Optus' cheapest is $60 a month for unlimited data, payg calls (with option to add unlimited calls for $5 a month). can't find any seniors deals on optus.

Anything else worth looking at? My nbn is with Optus for $60 a month and includes all calls and unlimited internet ($80 plan but $60 as it's bundled with mobile).

  • My folks are with Skymesh. $29.95 per month + $10 phone. They have fttp and the phone is on the uni-v socket. Calls are .10 per call. It's only 6Gb per month but they've never come close.

Build your own bundle with Aussie Broadband. You can get a plan for $50 per month with unlimited local and national calls, 12mbps and 10GB data. Only a couple of dollars extra to bump up more data if required. No lock-in contract and customer service and support staff are all based in Australia which makes solving problems with tech or billing much easier, especially for seniors.

Yeah I put my granny on Aussie Broadband and she's been happy with it.

  • I got this deal 12/1 everything's been excellent.
While the deal is finished they may bring out another deal soon.

Westnet seniors deal https://www.westnet.com.au/internet-products/broadband/nbn/s… looking to be the clubhouse leader, $39 a month for 50gb downloads, unlimited calls. Just inquiring about possible upgrade to next tier speed in case they decide to sign up to netflix/stan etc…

    • I emailed Westnet to ask this exact question. They told me about this "deal" they could do for me.

Basically, they just offered me their entry level NBN12 plan with 500GB for $59.95 (normal list price). Of course, this plan doesn't include calls like the $40 plan. I pointed this out and he said "Does she use the phone?" to which I replied "Yeah, she's a senior, that's how they contact their friends!"
