Coles Mastercard Not Honouring Bonus Flybuys Points on Sign Up - Help!

I signed up for a Coles Mastercard under this deal and elected to have to bonus flybuys points(30,000) credited to my account. The sign up was in December 2017.

Instead of getting the flybuys offer, I received an email saying I could get $100 off a Coles shop. This is not what I chose or signed up for and I do not want it (I never spend that much in one shop at coles).

Coles Mastercard are refusing to deal with the matter, saying it was a flybuys issue.

Flybuys are denying the offer ever existed, saying the only offer that existed at the time I signed up was $100 off a coles shop.

I have been calling both companies since January to have this rectified with no luck. They never return my calls, they shift responsibility to the other company (ie Flybuys blames coles Mastercard and vice versa), and now that it has finally been handed to a supervisor at Flybuys to deal with, I'm pretty much being told that I lose out because Coles Mastercard claims that the bonus flybuys points offer did not exist on the date I signed up (mid December 2017).

I don't have a screenshot of the sign up page offer to show Coles/Flybuys, and conveniently, none of their emails mentions it.

Any ideas of what I can do to get these points?

    Devastating

  • Cancel the card. Get a different credit card which comes with a bonus chunk of Qantas points (e.g 75,000 points). If you want to save on groceries and not redeem these points for flights than use them for a grocery gift card - the 75,000 Qantas points are worth much more in supermarket gift cards than 30,000 Fly buys points.

Short answer … you're not getting those points. Take the $100, buy $100 worth of non-perishables … deo, bog roll, whatever and move on.

    Isn't $100 off worth more than 30,000 points? :/

    • no

    • No? 2,000 points = $10, so he needs to be offered $150 off to break even.

That link to the deal implies it was targeted so you might not have even been entitled.
You could try making a complaint to FSO but without any evidence I dunno if you would be successful.
maybe you could PM someone who commented on the original deal, who got the points and ask if they can send you their screenshot of it and present that to FSO
