  • This phone is old news and has been sold cheaper in the past.
The replacement is the 5 Plus, the bricks in waiting you've been shopping out with fake vendor roms.
Rather than post new (non) deals, how about you address the queries of forum members who are peeved off with the expensive paperweights they got from your dodgy mob.

Could not agree more. I re-read through the original LITB Redmi 5 Plus post and could not believe how rep deserted many re that ROM problem.

      • +4

And you watch, rep will still avoid.

    • the replacement to this is the redmi nore 5 in China (Redmi note 5 Pro in India )

waiting now for the Global ROM to this specs are great for a sub $300 phone

Ahhh, the mythical Redmi Note 5 Pro. :D

I wish they'd hurry up with that.

        • +1

already released in India as redmi note 5 pro
getting a china release later this month

5 plus and 4x are basically the same phone except screen size.

      • Correct except one will work and the other will brick.

The A1 deal @ Shopmonk is sizzling. Go for that instead.

    Bad camera.. keep away

    • You have go in with eyes wide open.

Can't have everything at this price point.

    • -1

We have 2 note 4x's and the camera is fine. One phone is used by an ex pro photographer.

  • Not sure why people are bagging this phone. It was the best value phone for quite a while — long battery life etc.

    • +2

I was going to buy one but with all this talk of fake roms I don't think I will.

      • Still a great phone and top value at this price. Just watch where you buy it from… not this place by the sound of it.

      • I think the fake roms are in relation to the Redmi 5 plus and not this one, but agree that this is now no longer a great price. It's for this reason that you shouldn't be buying this phone - the ROM is not the issue.

    • The Phone is great, the seller is anything but. Moreover, this is a very average price to sell a superseded model.

  • +1

I like the a1 but rather the bigger battery. Plus note 5 pro is soon.

  • Hi Rep, got anything on the 4GB/64GB version?

    • +3

A1 @ Shopmonk will give you that for an awesome price for $244.

Their delivery is super quick through using DHL, had mine in 4 days.
My bricked 5 Plus took more than 4 weeks to arrive from LIBT.

For anyone coming from a Redmi Note 3 Pro there's not much around to entice.

None of the 4x, 5 plus or A1 are much of an upgrade from my Note 3 Pro.

I've been looking at all three but not convinced. Not sold on the mi A1 look or the battery size nor the aspect ratio on the 5 plus. Both are also lacking in the custom ROM department, no official LOS except for 4x, not the 4x in practical terms is the same as an Note 3 Pro.

As much as the random reboots on my 3 Pro are shitting me I think I'll hold out for the Note 5 Pro.

        • +1

Note 3 SE is a great phone and still going strong.

        • @spy:

That it is, was quite annoyed when my 3 year old hurled mine down the drive way, bent the chassis and cracked the screen! Suffice to say he was in some trouble.

I've negged deal due to retailer's poor customer service and delivery times.

Ordered an item in late November 2017 and still have not received it. Having a look online confirms this not an isolated incident and other people are having similar issues with waiting months for delivery. Way too long even for a package from China and from what I can see, no mention of it on their ads.

Lightinthebox customer service is also a joke, with the same generic templates used throughout the conversation. Tracking number shows my package is still in China and they have consistently avoided obtaining an update from their courier.

Save yourself the headache and avoid this company.
