Was searching for a good XBox One S Deal online. Given the Aldi XBox Ones are already out of stock, thought this is a good deal as you also get a couple of nice games as well.

Given you can score 1 Woolworths Rewards point per 1$ spent for any purchase on Big W online/store, and the convenience of using After Pay, makes it an ideal choice.

Was hoping for Amazon to bring back the 1 TB Box down to $219 again, but they have increased it back to $379!!!

Ending on 07/03 as per website unless out of stock!!!

    Great first deal mate!

Store in title before people start complaining (i'm not complaining haha) great first post.

edit: could stack with BigW card from cash rewards for 5% off bringing it down to $265 + delivery ($9.90 for me) brining it to $274.9 not much off but every bit counts i guess

    • Thanks for the tip. Only available online as of now. Updated the post :)

Is that your full nane in the title?

    • Porn name maybe?

    • 🤦‍♂️ May be a moderator did the right thing by removing it.

There's also this at Target for $299. Includes 2 minecraft games + add on + 3 months Xbox live as well as the standard wireless controller, console, HDMI cable and plug.

Free delivery or free click and collect depending on what you fancy.

And this at JB - Xbox One S 500GB Console + Controller etc + Forza Horizon 3 for $289.

Just because knowledge is power and variety is the spice of life :)

I guess it will come down to the preference of which games you are after :) I have only played games like Far Cry 4, Dishonored 2 and Tomb Raider in the past and hence my liking is towards Assasins Creed :) But the deals you have listed look good too!!!

      • Haha yeah all about variety! I'm sure some kids would rather play Minecraft (and that 3 months Xbox live gold isn't bad either..)

I've played Forza Horizon 3 (Xbox 360) and on the whole it's a good game, so can see why maybe that pack could sell also.

Your one is still the cheapest though :D

    • The + Controller is not quite true. Based on the links you provided, the XBox One S console package comes with 1 controller included. It is just that controller (for both the Target deal and the JB deal) - likewise for HDMI cable and plug (also standard part of the console package). So, it comes down to whether Forza H 3 (base game) is $10 better than Halo Wars 2 Token + Assassins Creed Origins Token.

Where does the Target one indicate the 3 month XBox Live is included?

The Big W deal isn't that great to be honest, but the Target and JB deals are no better either.

      • Yeah they are all standard part of the console package, but the console is only the Xbox One S. Those are the standard added inclusions.

The Target one shows it in the pictures and if you are knowledgable about that package, you would know it comes with 3 months Xbox Live Gold from other identical packages being sold.

Not exactly sure why I was negged for providing alternative options, but I'm not going to really dwell on that.

The thing is Halo Wars + Assassins Creed aren't up everyone's alley. Especially if you are buying this for your child, you might as well buy one of the other packages with things you might use.

        • It is just confusing to put console + controller because there have been deals where an extra controller is included. Same goes for HDMI cable + plug. OP did not do that (which is the right thing to do, because most people don't list XB1 or PS4 deals by separating all those included accessories).

One of the feedback comments for the Target deal indicated that it came with 1 month XBox Live Gold (which is standard for a newer XBox One S/X package, and some would include 1 month Game Pass as well). 3 months XBox Live, that would normally be a separate card/voucher - which I cannot seem to see it in the pictures.

        • @netsurfer: Last picture, you may need to slide across
I'm not sure how to format it and what the standard inclusions are but I just listed everything so everyone knows. It won't come with 2 HDMI cables lol.

This is what should be in the box:

        • @pennypincher98: Okay, it is extra 2 months worth of XBLive Gold then.

The + Controller etc part is annoying because the JB XB1X deal has an extra controller. As for listing everything, it is just not how people list XB1 deals (even the retailers don't do that). Which console system does NOT include a controller or a power adapter/cable? Neither deal is that good anyway (minecraft - the Amazon deal was far superior and cheaper; Forza - the Aldi deal was cheaper and included one expansion DLC).

        • @netsurfer:

neither deal is that good anyway

I'm sorry can you please link to where the prices are cheaper and available to purchase right now?
No use in saying "oh this deal was cheaper, but you can't get it anymore".
If someone wants an Xbox One S they can't exactly say to Amazon or Aldi, can you please lower your price or order another 1 in for me at the reduced rate?

        • @pennypincher98: Just because you cannot get the deals right now, it doesn't mean just list all the deals currently available.

The deals you listed are more expensive than OP's and you are using the argument that Assassins Creed Origins and Halo Wars 2 are not for everyone. That applies to every game. Even with the Amazon bundle, it was due largely to the price and the fact that it is a 1TB XB1S and hard drive (not because of the game).

This is OZBargain, not OZCurrentDeals. XBox One S isn't a console that you rush out and get one.

        • @netsurfer: You are just trying to save yourself now and it is failing miserably.

I was providing alternative options to add to the current option. I didn't neg the OP, so not sure why you have got your nose out of joint.
I know my deal are slightly more than the OP but the difference is negligible if you have to end up buying the games included in another bundle because those ones aren't either age-appropriate or for some other reason. The OP was fine about it, so not sure why you thought it was okay to start attacking on me.

Xbox One S isn't a console that you rush out and get.

I'm sorry, what!?! If someone wants an Xbox One S, they should be able to "rush out and get one". Like hell I'm going to wait another who knows how long to see if the prices get any cheaper. The Minecraft deal I listed is good for school aged kids - their friends all have one but they don't. They want to be able to play online with their friends on MC. What do you say? Sorry mate, wait a few months until it drops by $10.
          I don't think so.

        • @pennypincher98: As I have explained multiple times, it is the way you worded the alternative deals which I don't believe deserve a + vote. I think a neutral score is fair. If SSS didn't + it, I would not have done anything.

As a pennypincher, the difference is not negligible. If someone really wanted an XBox One S, that person would have bought one back in 2016 (I did, $200 with 1 game + a voucher code for another game - and that still pales in comparison to the Amazon deal) or bought one from the Amazon deal. Anyone waited this long and still haven't got one surely doesn't need to rush. Why cave in for an inferior deal now?

Assassins Creed Origins, objectively, is currently valued higher than Forza Horizon 3 or Minecraft. Also, buying XB1S now, honestly, isn't the best time unless the price is really low. The exclusive game to be added to GamePass is towards the end of this month. The quest bonus and goal bonus for this month (while very easy) are not rewarding at all (compared to last month or Jan 2018). The "free" games for XBLive Gold this month aren't great.

Neither one of the three games would be a reason to rush to get an XB1S, all 3 are XB1X enhanced, so you are technically not getting the best experience with any of the three games.

The bottom line is this: It is 2018 now, I would really like my fellow OZBers get better XBox One S deals than I did back in 2016. If you haven't got an XB1S yet and are thinking about getting one, then wait. So many great deals back in 2017 and early 2018, there will surely be more to come.

        • @netsurfer: is there a tl;dr? Sorry I don't actually care enough about this to actually read that massive slab of text first think Monday morning. Did you just use all the words to just say wait?

        • @pennypincher98: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/364698

$239 from Microsoft eBay: four different bundles to choose from:

          • Forza Horizon Hot Wheels bundle
          • Assassin’s Creed Origins bundle (no Halo Wars 2 though)
          • Minecraft Complete Adventure bundle
          • Shadow of War bundle
        • @netsurfer: I saw these, 20% off Microsoft eBay came in handy.
Thanks got the thought anyway :)
