Dunno why you got negged, but for the 8 hours or so I played the 1st game it did feel like a walking simulartor. The story was good though, but way too much walking. Should have added some buggies for quick drive arounds like in far cry.
The vehicles popped up pretty quickly from memory? Still felt a chore, but I'm pretty sure that's part of what they were going for.
Maybe I didnt reach there yet. I am a slow player. But still too much running.
@John Doh: Yea I played it the first time and got bored very quickly, but picked it up again later, and just really enjoyed exploring and looking at the environment, i put some music on and just chilled - it was really enjoyable.
Yeah the first 10 hours or so of the first game is definitely a slog, but once you get through that it speeds up considerably, including adding the buggys and other cool things.
You can get a bike within the first 2 hours…
For me the 100 hours played only felt like 10 hours. Loved it.

Can I just say I really didn't enjoy that game. The controls were poor and the fact you had to hear para talk every save, annoyed the crap out of me.
Put it towards Octopath 0 at EB games.
I am an MGS devotee from way back, and it took me a while to get into it, but I enjoyed it from probably the mid point onwards. Definitely agree on the controls being janky, etc though - despite the remake, it's a game that shows it's age now - at least when you play the OG standard def version, you can see it's an old game and forgive it, but the transition to 3rd person and control changes just highlighted how much worse to control it is than Last of Us, Uncharted, Days Gone, Horizon, and any other modern 3rd person game.
The Codec annoyance however was VERY on brand and the same as the original lol. The movie references get very old quickly.

I have nothing against consoles especially with where GPU prices are, other than the fact devs dont optimise ported stuff for PC.

My jaw actually dropped during the opening when it transitioned from cutscene to being playable.
Yup the initial mountain scene, i was considering the PS5 pro as i play it on performance mode and the differences were hardly noticable its that well optimised !!
Saw the comparision and they have nailed the skin tone. Feels more realistic. And cant believe this runs on hardware just as powerful as a PS5 shows how well things are optimised for consoles and PC always left out.
Fantastic game. Easily the most next gen game out there and runs silky smooth due to not being UE5. Gameplay and combat is much improved and is only a step below MGS5 in stealth gameplay. Early transversal options compared to the first make it a much more pleasant game to play through as well. Highly recommend.

Not sure how to do spoiler tag but he's got BB which is a tool and the guy says dont get attached , and I'm up to a part where my BB needs a factory reset or something
Doesn't have to be the BB on the cover for 2. Could be that Sam has a child of his own to make up for the grieving of losing the BB he grew attached to after having to dispose of it.
This is an insane thing to say. It's like saying the Terminator 2 DVD cover is a spoiler because you know the Terminator is still alive.

@botchie: Neither! Just that I won't sink 120 hours into many games, but of the ones that I do, I guarantee DS1 will be the one I enjoy the least. I still liked the gameplay mechanics, just hated the way the story was delivered (too little, wayyyy too late), and felt it didn't justify its length.
@TimR31: fair - I put in maybe 5-10 hrs but it was just too slow - I liked everything about it - graphics, world, even story maybe but pacing was way off
I get it was deliberate but i just don't have 4 hrs a day to get into a game these days.
Tell me you didnt get past the turturial without telling me… if you couldnt muster 3 hours into the first one i doubt you would enjoy the second one.i think COD with all its paid skins is your forte….
