  • Is this the old ps4 or ps4 slim?

    • Looks like old stock - the OG PS4. Weird.

  • Nice. Any idea of what firmware this is running?

  • +1

Oh boy, if this is actually old stock running earlier firmware, namely the one that lets you unlock the built in PS2 emulator, then (profanity), I'll be grabbing one.

I still get by with my fat PS3 for my PS2 discs but every day could be it's last, you know how the they are.

If someone does end up confirming, it'd be swell if you'd hit me up. :)

    • does the ps4 pro have the ps2/ps3 emulator?

      • Every model does have the ability, but the only way to unlock it is through a hack that can only be done on earlier firmwares. AFAIK the Pro shipped with too high of a firmware to do it to begin with.

Also it supposedly allows for PS4 backups / piracy but tbh all I want is Tony Hawks 3 and Spidey 2.

        • spiderman 2 amazing but never really found a good one after that

        • @jonathonsunshine: Ultimate is fun
          3 is okay
Web of Shadows is pretty sweet
          Dimensions is eh
          Edge of Time is alright
Amazing 1 and 2 are so damn average

          Bring it home, insomniac.

  • Just checked in-store. It's the very first generation and none left within 50km of Indooroopilly, QLD.

  • Out of stock online and with no find in store option should mean that there is none left nationwide

Would be careful with this specific model, lots of problems on the OG PS4.

    • This. Do not screw yourself with the disc ejection problem.

      • From memory, this was only with models pre August/September 2015. I have the Metal Gear variation and have had no such issues and I am pretty sure I won't have any in the future. Not sure if anyone can confirm this.
