  If you back up your phone as well as transfer purchases to your computer, doesn't that backup your contacts also?

    yes. it's a full backup that can be restored onto a different handset

    Not really the ozbargain spirit, paying a fee of up to $5/month for being lazy to backup your contacts whenever you charge your phone on the PC?

    How often do you add contacts to your phone to need daily automated backup?

      It backs up my photos, sms, etc.. it's a full backup.

    on a mac you can use caching server, built in high sierra, to cache all cloud stuff
