    As a Sri Lankan, I think I can shed some light here.
    Yes, a state of emergency for 10 days has been declared (yesterday). This is due to a series of some unfortunate events that took place in Kandy, which is my home town. After a Sinhalese was killed by three Muslim men, violence irrupted between some groups from both parties. To the best of my knowledge, these incidents are confined to two suburbs in Kandy, and are not widespread throughout Sri Lanka. The state of emergency is in place to make sure that the police can control the groups (who reportedly arrived from some other areas, thus, most of us suspect that some of these events are politically motivated) who act violently and engage in racist acts.
    Personally, I think the government did not handle this delicate situation well enough. After all, this the most incompetent president we ever had (among many other incompetent ones).

  Check when Air Asia have their schedules before booking, cause I booked and then during peak season they change their scheduling and slip an email 30 days prior to departure. Would never fly with them every again.
