It's always nice to hear when someone appreciates the deal :))

Solid bag for the coin, mine has seen 5 years of daily use and still going strong.

Thanks, bought one. Don't forget 7% cashback from Cashrewards.

  • Bags like these are what money is worth. Nice smooth design, no extra waste compartments, small-ish whilst having great space inside (I hope).

I bought a bag from officeworks for $100 a few years ago and it lasted well and had tons of compartments, but I wish it had just a little less.

    • I bought a bag from Amazon for $25 and it lasted.

    • Same for the Ikea one i bought. lasted very well so far 4 years in.

    Thanks OP.

Still sad for missing the x 3 sale bags/44% off on top. I dont deserve my X3 designation :(

Now, hope some kickbutt deal pops up for THIS before my next trip

  • Bought Khaki thanks

  • 36.6 × 27.2 × 3.8 (cm) is the laptop compartment size.

    I have a Lenovo e570, 37.9 x 26.1 x 2.29.

I assume the laptop goes in portrait orientation, think the extra 15mm will be a issue?

    • +1

i got the same lappy…. im gonna bite the bullet !!

      • How did you go? My No6 turned up today, was meant to be 17" vs 15” but way more than 2" spare around my laptop.

Its not ginormously big but bigger than I expected.

    • Rushfaster has a laptop fit calculator on all its laptop pages.
      https://rushfaster.com.au/product/crumpler/the-dry-red-no5-1…
      ($179 btw)

It doesn’t specifically list your laptop, but an E540 which according to rushfaster won’t fit.

      • That's where I got my measurements from.
They are different on the actual Crumpler website. I was gonna get on, inspired by Skids reckless abandonment above.

Was sold out though, getting Dry Red 6 from the other deal.

Wanted to get a a satchel / messenger bag after my nice leather one died after almost a decade, but towards the end of last year, I was carrying a lot of extra stuff and I think it might actually have been causing me some back pain. They are a lot more practical though, so easy to get stuff in and out of them without taking if off.

      • I have this backpack and a huge Asus ROG Strix 15inch gaming laptop. Its dimensions are 390 x 266 x 30 mm and it fits snugly.

        • Hmm, the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is 389mm x 275 x 25. Too big?

Also, is it within a removable sleeve, that goes into the bag, or just a compartment?

        • @norkle:

This is just a compartment, and I dont think you'd be comfortable with anything above 270mm wide in there. The top of the opening of the compartment has about 15mm space for my laptop but thats when its empty. IF you fill it up you'll struggle. I recommend you go to a crumpler store (there are a few around) and trying it yourself in person. Staff are great about it.

  • I bought one of these during the previous sale for about $50 more. Great, solid bag though

  • +1

Based on those dimensions, I'm guessing the 15.4" Dell Inspiron 15 is too big?

  • Great price OP!

  • One of the best you can get for the price. Been using it for a year now and really happy.

  • … and don't forget 7% off CashRewards!

  • Thanks grabbed Khaki (FYI Slate is sold out now)

  • Thanks OP, just grabbed the navy one :-)

  • Thanks op, got the blue as well.
These would be perfect if it had a chest strap

  • +2

I can't see add to cart for any of them? :(

    • I could only see "out of stock" and "notify me" buttons for the black version (which I would've snapped up), but no buttons for the other ones.

      • Can't seem to add any option to the cart :/

      • Same here. Maybe they have run out.

  • There are awesome bags! Had my first one for about 6 years and got a brand new one (lifetime warranty) when the straps started to rip away from the main body.

  • Out of stock in <70 minutes - 2 bags for each colour.

  • Yeah out of stock but head over to rushfaster - the Khaki version is same price.

    • I think the $99 ones are 13 inch versions.

  • that moment when you see someone with the same bag…

    • …. whilst climbing up Mount Everest

    • So many people with the 13 inch model in Melb CBD, me being one of them

  • Dunno why but I just buy one lol.

They have them at myer for $100 too, for those that missed out.

    • out of stock also,

Guess crumpler know what to do to if they want to move stock … do 60% off and list it on Ozbargain.

      • Dayum, I may have got one of the last ones there.

    • Also sold out!

  • There’s someone on eBay selling these for $120 last time I looked

  • I also have this bag, I wish the straps had more padding like the beerback model. Wish they hadn't discontinued beerback…

  • Why does it say 'out of stock' in the OP's post? Slate Grey is still available. I just bought one. Thanks OP

    • Yes confirmed, slate grey is still available. Bought one too.

  • +1

I bought one today from the DFO crumpler outlet at essendon. They had at least a dozen of varying colours on display. Not sure if there were more out the back.

They didn't have any at the city shop and said this model wasn't made anymore.

    • +1

Did they have any blacks available?

  • Still some Khaki and Slate Grey available, must've been restocked recently.

Found that link for Navy number 5 also at Iconic.
Dunno if the $20 off still applies. If not $99 which is still a good deal judging by the last sale of this bag a week ago.

    Edit. unavailable now though

  • Anyone else noticed lately, you check out a link on Ozbargain, you um and ahh for a few minutes till it's sold out. Then ads for the same business stalk you over the internet for a few days?
