I've been a lurking on OzBargain quite some while. Discovered it while building my PC couple of months ago, saved a lot of $$$. Wanted to contribute to the community myself. This is my first post here, please be gentle.🥹

Found these deal while looking for a new backpack for uni. I've never used a Oakley backpack before but heard they're made to last a very long time. I feel both the backpacks are impractical, inconvenient to use and carry around for daily use as they are heavy and over-engineered imo. Regardless, I still went with the Icon Rc purely based on its tactical look and its also a bit lighter than the kitchen sink.

    If you want a good everyday backpack go for something from Osprey or Patagonia. Proper outdoor brands (but avoid the "yuppy" ones like North Face etc).

      there is no such thing as an "everyday backpack"
      Everyday this would be a fail for me.
      I use a backpack everyday on my cycle commute to work and would never use this.
      Everyday you want to look like a military wannabe maybe.
      Agree that North Face are rubbish, they are poor quality and not designed for long use

          @wckdmustang: No, I use different backpacks depending on what l am doing . I'm using a second hand North Face bag now which is very poor quality..
          I don't own a car just a couple of bikes.
          All of my backpacks are from op shops because nobody makes a backpack now that suits me. I don't want a notebook sleeve. Just a minimalist backpack that has at least 35l.
          I'm an ex bike courier and some solid opinions on backpacks. (profanity) chrome
