How to Set Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x to Australia Region?

Hi, anyone can help? Followed many OBers advice and got the Xiaomi Note 4x from gearbest deal. Arrived today! Looks great but… I can't set the region to Australia? Any idea why? Some apps won"t work if I set to any other region, right? So what do I do - Send it back? Thanks

  Set it to Singapore all working fine hear Mi Max :)

  Yeah there's no Australia region, can also set it to indian. I think the main thing this does is give you a couple secondary keyboards for Indian/Chinese characters so no worries setting it elsewhere :)

  Agree with all the above comments……..Meanwhile I managed to brick (soft brick) my Redmi 4. Pls let me know if you know anyone who is challenged and helpful to guide me to unbrick it. Bought only 2 months ago! Tks
