Kinda strange how expensive this remaster is across all platforms. Surely the price on this will plummet.

    • I hope so too. Even a special for consumers who already owned the PS3 version would be nice.

Why is it priced so high? Is it a PC port, or an actual remaster with re-rendered textures and reworked lighting, etc?

      • EA needs the money :)

Its a higher res post, with a higher framrate and slightly better textures and colouring. Basically what you would get by changing settings in the PC original version, and applying a reshade or sweetfx preset….

"Remasters" are an easy way for devs to make quick money on consoles. All you need is to up the resolution and framerate and the console players will really think it is a remaster (i.e Skyrim with a piss filter).

  • Same with Xbox, the digital version is cheaper (compared to boxed) @ $49.95 or $44.95 with EA Access. At least that version is play anywhere (xbox or pc)

i wonder if this suggests Target and Big W lowering their prices to maybe $39 or $49 on release day? I think Target have done that in the past. Can't wait to re-live my teenage years!

    • How different is this to the existing PC version?

      • Big Surf Island was never available on the PC version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=23720…

The remastered PC version will get it when it released.

TBH Big Surf Island wasn't all that good. I absolutely loved Burnout Paradise when it came out but it hasn't aged well, I was hoping for a big change to the physics and textures in the remaster but it offers nothing new for PC players (apart from the Island).

        • @papercutter: there exists a mod to port it to the PC version

The mod adds the island plus all of the billboards, vehicles, smash gates, super jumps, online challenges and almost every drive-through. It’s lacking the offline events, road/area names, traffic lights, vehicle traffic and the paint shop.

Typical EA charging that much for a remaster.

And in Typical EA fashion, wait a month and it'll be on sale for 50% off.

the soundtrack for this is lit.

Lol its not even a remaster really. Just a resolution and framerate body

Feels to early for me for this to be remastered. The original still looks and plays well. I still go back to play it often in short bursts on the 360.

Would have much preferred Burnout Takedown or Revenge though. Love those games and more deserving of a remaster. This would have taken less work/effort though so not surprised coming from EA.
