Broadlink RM mini 3 with Foxtel remote

Received the Broadlink RM mini 3 and am having problems programming the Foxtel remote.
Is it compatible? Have it working fine on my TV, receiver and air con.

  • How are you training it?

    • I create an appliance select user defined then when I create a button to learn the broadlink device accepts it (I can see the light blink) but when I test it nothing happens.

      • Try holding the remote button longer when doing the learning.

        • okay will try that. Thanks

        • Just tried it and still no luck

        • @Beast: Darn… sorry about of ideas. For one of my remotes I had to hold it down longer than I normally would have :/

Is it recording other IR remotes ok at all? Say the TV?

        • @JimmyF:
Yep, no problem with all other devices. Thanks for your suggestions

  • +1

If it's a Foxtel iq3 remote, the remote is bluetooth which won't worth with the rm mini 3 (which is infrared)

    • The IQ3 still works with IR remote controls, so if the OP can get a hold of one, it might help.

      • I needs to get me an IR remote too. My Logitech Harmony Hub can control the Iq3 via limited IR but not all the functions seem to be supported.

    • No not IQ3. I have a standard set top box as it's connected to satellite.

  • i have old foxtel remotes that work on that iq3 but still no luck to pair with rm mini 3

    • Ok, so it’s not just me. I can see the rm mini sending the signal but the foxtel box does not respond.

      • yeah no go with either remote or ir sender

  • anyone successfully got this working?

  • Hi Beast, I too have the exact same problem trying to get my Broadlink RM Pro working with my Foxtel MyStar Set Top Box. The remote training appears to work successfully with the Broadlink RM device but then fails to control the MyStar box.
Someone suggested the remote is bluetooth, I'm not so sure about that because the remote is directional ie if you cover the front of it, it is unable to communicate with the myStar box…leading me to think it is IR.
Did you have any success linking it up?

  • hey op, did you end up finding a solution?
