Credit Card Churn after Getting a Mortgage

Hi all,

Anyone have some insight into credit card churn after getting a mortgage?

Churning for points was one of my favourite hobbies over the last few years, but I've held back a bit the last year as I was about to take out a mortgage to buy my first property.

Now that I've done that, how long should I wait before starting applying for cards again? I previously only applied for about 3-4 a year, and they were all approved no problems.

Any insight from those who've done this before? Does having a mortgage impact your ability to apply for cards?

no, because mortgage is a secured loan

you can apply cc anytime after settlement

    • Thanks mate. This is exactly what I was hoping for! :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it won't be an issue for the mortgagee, it may effect the credit limit on cards applied for, which may be an issue if some require a minimum limit. But I could be wrong.

I approved for a CC for both my partner and I 1hr after the mortgage was confirmed.

    • Awesome, thanks.

    • I applied*

      can't edit it now haha
