Electrolux Ergorapido Cordless Stick Vac + Steam Cleaner $169

50

I've been watching this vac for a while and this is the cheapest I've seen (apart from costco at $150, but without the steam cleaner).

The reviews are pretty decent, just keep in mind that a cordless vac will never be as powerful as a mains-powered vac. Batteries will eventually die too.

This is for the latest 12V model with the LEDs on the front. The suction part is detachable for use as a standard cordless vac.

The steam cleaner is an Optim which Godfreys lists at $99 usually:

  • how good is a cordless vac for $169/$150?

this is a fantastic unit for wooden/lino/tile floors, sucks up dog hair very well!! The head swivels and has a "motorised broom" which are the key features. It's ok for rugs, but don't expect to do all carpet floors with it. Pricewise I have seen the unit by itself down to $99 at one of HN's sales - one of the few "real" bargains I have seen at HN sales! If you need the free steam mop then consider it a good deal

    • Were those the 9.6V ones or the 12V ones with the LED "headlights"? We're in a transition period now… the Myer I went to had the 9.6V one while godfrey and harvey had the 12V one.

They were the 12v ones, they were half price for the day.

        • Now that's a bargain!

  • I agree with Coops, I bought mine when HN had them at 99 and its brilliant. I use mine on carpets, rugs and lino and it works extremly well, it picks up broken glass, rice, pet hair and kid mess, as you can tell I love mine well worth the investment.

  • the hn one must be 9.6v as they dont have the front headlights

    • ahh ok.. must have been a clearance. $99 is a good price even for an outgoing model. I wonder what the real-life performance difference is..

  • Mum has a friend that works for Electrolux and he only get these for $140…But they are fantastic little vacuum cleaners, we very very rarely use the big vacuum cleaner anymore.
    Good deal.

Woa.. I am surprised at the markup on these things. I got one of these for $80 from the good guys a few months back. Harvey Norman had these for $99, so I went to the good guys down the road and got it down to $80. I had a second look, mine is definitely the 12v version. I even paid by credit card too. The performance is good with one of these things, even though they only last for about 20 mins on a single charge, but that is enough to do the whole house except for the bedrooms.

    • great price, can you upload the receipt so we can price match?

      • my receipt is in the car.. since it's front-page on their website, you should be able to just show them that..

        • actually I was hoping geek001 could provide a receipt of the $80 purchase from Good Guys

        • yes, i should have realized. :)

  • FYI, this seems to be the Steam Mop in the offer.

Sorry, this info is already in the original post :-)

  • has anyone used the Optim Steam Clean Steam Mop before?
How does it compare to other steam mops?

I'm tempted to buy this vacuum separately if I can get a better steam mop for $100.

Anyone with a Choice website membership able to check this review(link below) and let us know how the Optim Steam Mop rated?
    http://www.choice.com.au/reviews-and-tests/household/laundry…

  • I've read a few reviews about this product and am tempted to buy one at this price, but I wonder if anyone out there is able to comment on the battery life/performance of the vacuum? Does it still hold its charge well after a few months?

  • Just checked the Choice review. Out of the 12 they reviewed, the Optim was 3rd last on the overall score - it got an overall score of 62 (the highest score being 77)

Good points listed were that you don't have to wait for it to cool down before refilling the water container, and that it heats up quickly. Bad points were that it was only OK cleaning performance.

    • Thanks for checking the review for us.

As a stick vac the Electrolux Ergorapido seems to have rated quite well during a Choice review, the bad point like all stick and handheld vacs are that they are not good at picking up dirt from carpet.

I'll just try to source one of these for $80 as posted by geek001 above and think about purchasing a steam mop another time.
