  • Just curious about their LC buns. Worth a try? Any loss in taste? I don't have to avoid carbs.

    • +1

They are a very light bun, with little to no taste and also quite thin, so I would only recommend if you're specifically wanting less carbs in your diet.

    • +1

Yeah this is a downgrade IMHO. Unless you are gluten intolerant.

    Eh, Tried it once.
    Wasn't impressed.

besides obviously not being as tasty as a proper bun it was also smallish (like bread size), doesn't hold the burger ingredients properly and in my case, snapped - similar to the way a crusket snaps and I ended up eating bits and pieces of my burger with my fingers.

I didn't like the low carb super bun - it was a bit like eating cardboard. Carbs are not the enemy anyway - you can most definitely eat carbs and stay fit and not overweight.

    • With moderation you can technically eat anything and stay fit and not overweight. However a low carb/high fat diet suits a lot of people who like the idea of losing weight eating steak and cheese rather than bread and potatoes.

      • +1

Big difference between overweight and unhealthy. Carbs should be moderated based on lifestyle/exercise habits more than any other macronutrient.

  • How much are the Low Carb SuperBun normally? Is it equivalent to a BOGOF?

  • -4

I put money on the fact that the 'low carb' bun is the unhealthier option in the long run. Seriously if you're eating a burger, the type of bun has the least impact on your health….unless your genuinely coeliac.

  • Haha I went in thinking this was 2 for 1

    • I think it is? It's tagged as BOGOF.

      • Nah just a diff bun

      • I think that's mistagging. Normally in BOGOF the items are comparable in value. Otherwise when my dentist gives me a free mini tube of toothpaste after a session is that BOGOF? Reporting.

        • Normally in BOGOF the items are comparable in value.

So is the low carb bun cheaper?

        • @inherentchoice: No, the price of the upgrade to the LC bun is far less than the price of the burger. This is an upgrade offer. But maybe a taste downgrade.

        • @greenpossum: Okay sorry for my questions I was really confused about what this offer is.

I thought it was buy one burger, get a free low carb bun burger. Grill'd wasn't very clear either on their T&Cs.

        • @inherentchoice: Haha, if only. I'd combine the patties to make one super burger and give the LC bun to the birds.

  • How much is the bun normally?

    • +1

      $1.50

  • just eat a normal bun lol

  • Just order "no bun" or bunless.
