Good price for what seems like a decent, fairly slimline headlamp . This would be basically flood light style, so much more ideal for indoor use, working on car etc, not so much walking or biking where you'd want something with a lens/reflector to give you a hotspot

  • Yes it is great. Also works very well as a headlamp

    • +9

      Which is what it is.

      • Not that good as a head lamp for cycling, fishing etc.. You need a light with a focused beam for that and these are wide … if you get my drift. We have 2 (but paid $5 ea !! :-( )

  • Lmaooo I just bought one today at 3pm for $5. Ah wells

    • just return and buy the new one.

      • +5

Just ensure that you don't expend more than $1 in getting there and back….

        • Also time is money?

Goes to Bunnings to return item to save a dollar, ends up buying a snag, a drink, and a box full of other 'specials' on the way out.

    • Paid $5 as well last weekend… it is functioning well strapped to my bike helmet.

is this bright enough to see ear wax from the ear canal

    • +1

Use a bore-scope instead. Disclaimer: This is not medical advise.

    • As long as you dont try to see your own ear wax, you will be fine with this.

  • How long will the batteries last on strobe if I am attending an all night rave party?

    • Not sure on the packaging, but if you can open packaging without damage, just buy it for $4, leave it on strobe all day and time when it stops . Use rechargeable batteries so you don't lose there.
If it doesn't last ling enough, take it back.
You could probably put those extra long life batteries and it would last all weekend, maybe all week even, but those batteries cost alot more.

    • 9 hours on low constant so I would assume longer on strobe going of other torches I have.

BCF has similar on sale. 2 for $9.99.

    • That's unbranded and $1 more, plus you have to buy two.

Great for working underneath the car.

  • Oh man this is great and cheap. I look like a real askhole wearing it though.

I look like a real askhole wearing it though.

It's supposed to go on your head.

  • can you strap these around your waist?

    • +3

Yes, it can be worn as bathing attire for night time swimming.

Upvote for great price but also for not calling it a flashlight!

      Or Fleshlight :o

  • I went to a hairdresser in china once and there was a lady in the back sewing the head straps for these

  • 3x AAA batteries included <3

  • Bought one @ $5 a while ago. Okay for general close-up work but for outdoors it is a “be-seen” not “see” light. It is quite light and comfortable for wearing over an hour or so.

Just wish you didn’t have to cycle through all the settings each time to turn it off or on, but for $4 it is a good buy.

  • Head Torch

Good for checking the dark corners of one's mind.

Plenty at Artarmon. Shelf price $5 but will scan as $4.

  • Perfect for taking the bins out to the street when it's dark.

  • I think I got a dud. It flashes once when switched on and won't light up or flash again until the battery cover is removed and put back, i.e. resetting the electronics. Batteries are fine, checked with multimeter, also tried another set. :(

Going to take it back for a swap.

    • There is a tiny piece of plastic over the battery terminals that sometimes slips to the side. This has been the culprit when some of our customers have brought them back with similar issues.

      • Yes I removed that. It wouldn't have flashed once if there had been no power.

      • I'm having the same issue - plastic piece removed from the battery terminal.

    • Got it swapped for a good one. Hope it lasts a reasonable length of time.

OP please specify human head, I tried to get one on my dog and it was a massive fail

    • Dogs/cats already have excellent night vision capabilities.

      • +1

But Jackson has a dog that can push the button! That's something.

      • I attach one of these to my dog's collar while camping as she tends to walk off a lot, so it's nire useful for seeing where they are.

        • Useful for the sh!t scared animals to avoid her also

    • I initially read 'human' head! Was thinking - "why in Gods name does he have to specify that?"

  • Bought 2 - both don't work and I checked the batteries.
I can't see any offending piece of plastic anywhere.

    • Dear Mr Bunnings I wish to apologise - in the light of day as they say, I found the pieces of plastic.
It came out when I dropped the battery cover.
For anyone having the same problem it sits on the removable cover and is vaguely W shaped to fit round the terminals.

      • Yes, in products where the cells are already fitted, there is usually something to isolate the cells from the circuit to prevent discharge, a slip of plastic or paper.

  • Does this scan at $4 nationwide? The whole box lot sitting at Bunnings Altona the last few weeks still signed with $5.

Given the amount left I'm tempted to wait if they'll slap a clearance price on it soon :D

    • Nah, go ahead and scan it at the counter. If it doesn't show $4 you should show them their webpage. But I think that's unlikely.

    • The ones I got were marked $5 but scanned $4 at checkout.

  • Just bought two of these, and they are bloody excellent for the price.

Maddington has a whole pallet load of them lol

  • price is back up to $5 according to web site
