OP revoked own vote? Is the deal not good?

There has been reports of this blender leaking underneath, see youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giaaiaNB_Uc

Have one and can confirm the leak.

    • Get what you pay for basically

    • Just claim on warranty then.

      • Sounds like a fault, have one does not do this. Just get a new one on warranty.

This blender got a 'do not buy' rating from Choice which was enough to put me off it

    • Can anyone share the Choice reviews for blenders for fellow Ozbargainers?

      • It's behind their paywall. I've tried before (strangely that was for a blender too!)

Soapbox time: I think Choice are missing a revenue stream here. They have a 30 day access and a 12 mo access. I'd quite happily pay for a one-off 28 day "Blenders" access.

        As I've a moment spare………

The top ranked blender was given a 93% score….so the best 'value' options IMHO were (score, model, $$$)

        • 87% Sunbeam MultiBlender Electronic PB7950 $139
        • 85% Bodum Bistro Blender 11303 $129
        • 83% Sunbeam MultiBlender Pro PB7620 $70
        • 77% Tiffany BLT932 $35

        Hope that helps. :-)

        • Thanks mate.

Oh FWIW this Kogan one was in a separate review they did on 'super blenders' - however it was the last ranked one with a 67% score.
          Choices good points were:
          • Good for performance.
          • Good for ease of use, however it jolts and moves in almost a full circle on the bench while blending and we don't recommend it.
          • Excellent for dry milling.
          • Good for raw vegetable soup.
          • Tamper provided.
          • Cord storage.
          • Light weight plastic jug.

          Bad Points:
          • Only OK overall. We don't recommend it due to the unit jolting and then vibrating, travelling in an almost full circle on the bench when blending.
          • Only OK for ease of use.
          • May not reach temperature above 60°C when processing raw vegetable soup.
          • Poor result for parmesan cheese.
          • Very basic instructions no guidelines or recipes.
          • Not dishwasher safe.
          • Narrow base area can make it difficult to remove material around the blade.
          • When using the tamper the jug needs to be kept stable lifting the jug slightly can grind the drive socket.
          • Can be difficult to remove lid as no grip.
          • When on a high speed a strong flow of air is blown out from under the motor unit.
          • Jug sits loosely on unit, possible to knock over or become unstable.
          • No number settings on speed dial, only grading.
          • Large jug may be awkward to clean in a domestic sink.
          • Liquid is pushed up into the lid, can drip when removing lid.
          • Noisy on high setting.
          • Not suitable for making dough

      • I got the review with online access from the local library

How much do replacement jugs cost?

    • Varies.

$19 a couple of years ago.

Quite a good blender. Great for dried Goji berries.

Some of the electronics is typical Kogan hit and miss.

      $69 is a steal,unless this is a bad batch.

  • Had this before. Blades broke as part of a defective batch. But replacement came along, and has hummed along for 3+ more years! ++
