  • How does this work? Is it just any food for a dollar? More details please

  • +2

Got it yesterday, you get a notification in your phone about a specific deal for $1. Yesterday it was $1 breakfast at the Queensland museum for the first 100 people.

Targeted to the location you set in your app.

  • Notifications haven't worked for me on iPhone, both times I have tapped the notification and it has just disappeared rather than take me to deal page

  • Thnx OP!
    I received notification of deal I didn't want :(

  • Doesn't work.

Says it's not valid for this purchase?

    EDIT:

Ah, I read the comment above.

  • Thanks - installed app.
Just got a $59 Bento box deal for $1 in Brisbane🍣

    • This one.

Looks like if you find then add +1 (so blah-1, blah-2 etc.) to the end, it shows the dollar page. You'll still need to claim through app but this one is still available.

      • Yes. A great deal!
Know the small restaurant & want to try it.

  • Any for Perth so far?

  • Today's $1 Brisbane Bento offer sold out (almost 1hr ago - was in earlier comment). Back to $29😞

Anyone know when notifications are sent?

Setting in app for when you want to be notified - miss if set too early, miss out if set too late.

  • Anyone knows which deal is for Melbourne?

    • Got a deal for Black Label Grill (Mt Waverley) yesterday, and one for The Fish Inn this afternoon (also Mt Waverley)

  • Might be worthwhile installing the app. After all, if I don't like the deals I'll just turn off notifications or delete the app.

  • What time do you set it on though?

  • After using up a long-standing Groupon voucher I was ready to delete the app after being hassled by Groupon notifications for several months.

Of course yesterday I ignored the $1 deal for a bagel and drink ("it's $one"?) since I assumed it was a typical so-what Groupon deal and they were referring to a plain bagel. The moral of "The boy who cried wolf" is so relevant to many things, including apps and OzBargain deals.

  • so is there a list of places to use?
    Does it change everyday?

    • Sold out. Received no notification, checked notification button in Groupon app and the venue was there but sold out.

      • That was quick, I received the notification and it opened normal.

  • sold out now

  • Thanks for the heads up OP, just got $1 yum cha in Adelaide CBD

  • got a notification for $1 for Melbourne Carmine's Bistro. Clicked on it and it worked.
usually on iPhone notifications didn't work in the past.. i guess lucky this time..

  • From past experience I think notifications are sent at 12pm

  • keep giving me error and then sold out :-(

  • Deal still on this week?

  • Just got $1 for $10 worth of Mrs Fields, thanks OP.

    • Any idea of the link? Adding -1, -2 etc doesn't seem to work anymore.

      • Not too sure on the link unfortunately as it's in the app.. It came up @ 12pm QLD time, I think it's only for QLD as well as that's what it says in the offer.

        • Apparently it came up for NSW and SA as well. Just trying to figure out what links they are using so I can find VICs.

          EDIT:

Found it. Totally different link but same changing to #s for different cities.

          https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/mrs-fields-bakery-cafe-1

South Australia still available, everywhere else sold out.

        • @neil:

Great find! I'm usually quite savvy with finding the links but didn't know how the groupon ones worked. It's a great deal I reckon.
